Hawkeye set photo reveals a sly comics Easter egg that also shows just how detailed the series will be. Starting with WandaVision in January, Marvel Studios will release several shows on Disney+ set within the expansive MCU. These shows are intended to connect to the movies and delve deeper into characters like Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen) and Loki (Tom Hiddleston). Jeremy Renner's Clint Barton will be star of Hawkeye, which marks the first time he'll have a solo project within the MCU. For some time, updates about Hawkeye were slow to come, but now that production has begun, fans have learned a great deal of new information.

For one thing, Clint won't be the only archer found in Hawkeye. It was announced last year that the series would introduce Kate Bishop to the MCU, but only recently was it confirmed that Hailee Steinfeld will play her. Even before the official announcement came, Steinfeld was spotted on set with Renner and an adorable golden retriever as play Lucky the Pizza Dog. Beyond that, Hawkeye is poised to delve into Clint's backstory, and this time, he'll be sporting a hearing aid, just like in the comics.

Fans have enjoyed poring over the various Hawkeye set photos that have emerged over the past week, and the latest features a fun nod to the comics. As pointed out by Marvel HUB, Steinfeld's Kate was seen wearing the exact same t-shirt that the character wears in the comics. The design and font are the same, indicating showrunner Jonathan Igla is paying close attention to the source material. Clearly, Hawkeye is building upon the comic stories where Kate and Clint team up. Check it out below.

Marvel fans have long wanted to see Kate Bishop join the MCU, and based on the set photos alone, it looks like Steinfeld's Hawkeye introduction is exactly what they have hoped for. Most of the pictures so far have shown Clint and Kate roaming the streets of New York City together with Lucky by their side, and Kate's initial costuming shows she'll be kept close to her comics counterpart. This is positive start, and one that has many looking forward to seeing more.

Hawkeye is gaining momentum in a big way, from the start of production to the release of the full cast list, which now includes Vera Farmiga and Black Widow's Florence Pugh. Actual plot specifics are still being kept under wraps, but fans will no doubt have some ideas about where things could go. With production having just started, there's still a long way to go before something like a trailer emerges. However, perhaps more set photos will be revealed to help tide fans over until it arrives.
