Hasbro has seemingly confirmed that Marvel Studios will release Hawkeye and Ms. Marvel on Disney+ in 2021. After eleven years of dominating theaters, the Marvel Cinematic Universe is going to the small screen like never before. With the launch of Disney's streaming service, Marvel Studios will make shows for Disney+ that will be extensively tied to the ongoing MCU narrative. This will begin with The Falcon and The Winter Soldier and WandaVision arriving this year, with the latter setting up the events of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

But, Marvel's plans for Disney+ extend far beyond 2020, as the original announcement for their slate included LokiWhat If...?, and Hawkeye in 2021 - in addition to WandaVision before it was moved up. The new release for WandaVision hasn't been the only change to Marvel's plans either. Marvel announced last summer that Ms. MarvelMoon Knight, and She-Hulk shows are also in development, and there have been multiple updates on all three as the months have gone by. This has left some questioning if changes to the 2021 slate could come, especially after reported delays for Hawkeye.

According to Hasbro's presentation at the 2020 New York Toy Fair, Hawkeye will keep its spot in 2021 and will be joined by Ms. Marvel. The toy company showed a graphic for the upcoming Marvel slate that they will be releasing toys for and included both Hawkeye and Ms. Marvel as Disney+ releases in 2021. Since companies like Hasbro have to work with studios to coordinate all aspects of releasing a toy line, they would know what Marvel is planning and gives this slate more legitimacy.

With this reveal, it appears Hawkeye won't be delayed after all, or at least not enough to miss the 2021 release Marvel previously set. They do still have some work to do to ensure that this remains the case, such as finding an actress to play Kate Bishop. Marvel has Hailee Steinfeld at the top of their list for the role, but it is unclear if she'll be able to take on the role given her busy schedule. If Hawkeye is coming out next year though, then filming will need to begin sometime this year, so we'll know who will play Kate Bishop before then.

As for Ms. Marvel, this update is an exciting one for fans of Kamala Khan. When the series was announced, Marvel's Disney+ slate made it seem unlikely that the show would debut before 2022. Not only will it now be released in 2021, but it appears it has even leapfrogged Hawkeye. If that is the case, then Ms. Marvel will likely arrive sometime in the summer or early fall of 2021. Of course, Marvel also still needs to cast someone to play Kamala and all of the other Marvel characters who will be featured, but Ms. Marvel looks like it is moving forward rather quickly.
