Caution: This list contains spoilers for the Hawkeye season finale!

With Disney+'s Hawkeye series coming to a close, fans have come to a new appreciation for the Avengers' signature archer, as well as for the newly introduced Kate Bishop, played by the ever-popular Hailee Steinfeld. Their six-episode exploit has proven to be another hit for Marvel and Disney.

Hawkeye includes plenty of intriguing characters, some old and many new. Each character varies in levels of bravery, with some that have proven to be quite courageous in the face of peril, while others demonstrate just how little bravery they possess when all is said and done.

Kazi

Fra Free as Kazi arguing with Maya Lopez (off-screen) in Hawkeye

Kazi, played by Fra Free, was the right-hand man of William Lopez, the former leader of the Track Suit Mafia before he was murdered by the Ronin. Kazi appears to be the closest confidant of Lopez's daughter Maya until it is revealed that he had been involved in her father's death.

While he isn't one to shy away from a fight, Kazi is not overly courageous. Rather, he plays the part of the attack dog, mauling anyone the Kingpin points him toward. In the end, he doesn't have the strength or the will to do the right thing, resulting in his ultimate demise.

Eleanor Bishop

Eleanor holds a wine glass in Hawkeye.

Vera Farmiga plays Eleanor Bishop, Kate's mother and the mastermind behind many of the show's lesser antagonists. As the CEO of a prominent security firm, Eleanor is eventually revealed to be in league with none other than the Kingpin of Crime, Wilson Fisk.

Though much of the series hints at Eleanor being a fearsome villain, the season finale shows just how fearful she really is. Much of her scheming was reactionary, merely protecting herself from any further danger. In the end, she is turned in by her own daughter, powerless to do anything to stop it.

Grills

Grills wears the Ronin costume while LARPing in Hawkeye

Grills is a volunteer firefighter that moonlights as a LARPer in his downtime, played by Clayton English. When he comes across the Ronin's suit, he swipes it to use as a costume in his next LARPing session, bringing him into Clint and Kate's sphere of influence. He and his role-playing friends join Clint's team in stopping Kingpin's attack on the Bishop holiday party.

As someone who risks his life on the regular, Grills proves himself all the more when he teams up with Clint and Kate, putting himself in the way of a bonafide street gang just to help out. While Grills never sees any actual action, it is clear that he was willing to put himself in danger if it meant keeping others safe.

Laura Barton

Laura on the phone in Hawkeye

Laura Barton is Clint's wife and closest confidant, with Laura Cardellini reprising the role after her latest appearance in Avengers: EndgameLaura is given a meatier role in this installment of the franchise, with the series even hinting that Laura may have once held the Mockingbird superhero persona.

While Laura is absent from the action of Hawkeye, she manages to prove her bravery in other ways, helping her husband complete his mission even though she knows it could keep him from the family for longer than expected. In the end, the implication that she had once been a SHIELD agent also speaks to the character's valor.

Jack Duquesne

Jack in Hawkeye Episode 4 With Sword

Tony Dalton lends his acting chops to the character of Jack Duquesne, Eleanor's Bishop's fiance with an unhealthy obsession with fancy swords (an appropriate enthusiasm for a character known as The Swordsman to have). Jack becomes a primary suspect in the murder of his Uncle Armand until it is revealed that it was Eleanor all along.

While Jack was initially set up to be a villain in the series, he shows his true colors in the finale, fighting off hordes of Track Suit Mafia "bros" at the Bishop Christmas party, armed with nothing but a sword. An argument might be made that Jack's bravery comes from his seeming ignorance of the fact that he could die, but the fact stands that the man is skilled with a sword.

Maya Lopez

Maya Lopez puts her hand up in Hawkeye

Maya Lopez, played by Alaqua Cox in her acting debut, is the vengeful daughter of the late William Lopez, one of the Kingpin's lieutenants. Maya embarks on a journey of revenge against the Ronin, only to learn that her father's death was the end result of much more sinister plans that went far higher up the chain of command than a mere assassin.

Though she lacks caution and forethought, there is no denying Maya's fearlessness. She is willing to throw herself into any battle she deems fit, but also not afraid to reassess her methods to find the best path forward. The character's bravery is sure to serve her well in her spinoff series, set to premiere sometime in 2023.

Wilson Fisk

Wilson Fisk sits in chair in his white suit

Confirming much fan speculation, Vincent D'Onofrio reprises his role from the Netflix Daredevil series as Wilson Fisk, the Kingpin of Crime. His arrival on the MCU scene has humongous implications for the universe as a whole and leaves plenty of fans to wonder where the Kingpin will show up next in the MCU.

Fisk is ruthless, conniving, and brutal in his approach to organized crime, posing a significant threat to Hawkeye's main characters. He shows just how untouchable he really is, enduring an explosion, several arrows to the chest, and being hit dead-on by a car all in just one episode. Though the series suggests that Maya may have killed Fisk in the end, it is very unlikely that fans have seen the last of him in the MCU.

Yelena Belova

Yelena spies on Eleanor Bishop (off-screen)

The MCU's best new anti-hero, Yelena Belova returns after her debut in Black Widow earlier this year, played by the fantastic Florence Pugh. Yelena is shown to be on a murder mission, sent by Eleanor Bishop to kill Hawkeye to cover up the scheme that the hero was on the verge of revealing.

Yelena proves to be just as fearsome as in Black Widow, putting up quite a fight against both Clint and Kate. She even manages to best Clint in their final battle, only choosing to let him live after realizing just how close he had been with Natasha before her death. Though she may not be the star of Hawkeye, Yelena certainly steals the show with her boldness and fearlessness.

Clint Barton

Clint Barton in the Hawkeye MCU Show

It's clear that Clint Barton has grown a lot as a character since his MCU debut in 2011's Thor. Now, with an entire series dedicated to his character, fans have seen a whole new dimension of Clint that has never been put on display before. Clint desperately tries to get to the bottom of the mystery surrounding Kate Bishop's family in time to get home to his family for the holidays.

Because of Clint's history as a SHIELD agent and an Avenger, there is little that fazes him anymore. Nevertheless, Clint gets put through the wringer for the duration of the series, suffering injury after injury and yet never backing down from a fight. It is his preserving bravery that inspired Kate to be brave as a child and to become a hero as an adult.

Kate Bishop

Kate Bishop Hawkeye episode 4 ending

Hailee Steinfeld's Kate Bishop is the newest Marvel hero to join the MCU, training under Hawkeye himself. The character is forced to investigate her own family after unsavory dealings come to light that threatens her entire worldview--and her entire future.

Despite her entire world crashing down all around her, Kate preserves all the same. She is unafraid to rush headlong into battle, even if it could mean her own death. Unlike Clint, Kate has never been a superhero before but doesn't let that lack of experience stop her from doing what is right. Her enduring bravery is sure to make her a hero for the ages as she continues her journey in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
