WARNING: This article contains spoilers for Eternals.

One of Eternals many Easter eggs is that Kingo is a big Captain America fan, a fact that Hawkeye could have perfectly paid off with Rogers: The Musical, but missed the opportunity. One of Hawkeye's many delights was its fictional Broadway show, chronicling the life of Captain America. It's a fantastic piece of cheesy nonsense that seems to be tailor-made to rub Clint Barton the wrong way. But its in-universe creation could have had a cool connection back to Eternals.

Over the course of his time on Earth, Kumail Nanjiani's Kingo has become obsessed with the idea of fame. The love and adulation he received from saving humans from the Deviants over the years became addictive, and he turned his attention into becoming a multi-generational Bollywood star. When he's reunited with the other Eternals in the present day, there are several indications that he's a big Captain America fan. During Eternals’ Bollywood dance sequence, the shields used in the number are a red and gold variation on Cap's shield. Later in his plane, there is a replica of Cap's World War II shield hanging up. It makes sense that Kingo would be a fan of Captain America over the other Avengers, as he would have been around in the 1940s during Cap's initial adventures.

Given his flamboyant personality and penchant for showbiz, it seems logical that Kingo should have channeled his love for Captain America into being the creative influence behind Hawkeye's Rogers: The Musical. He's a musical actor and a Cap obsessive, making for the perfect fit between creator and subject. It would have certainly explained why the Broadway production was so camp and tongue in cheek, something the Kingo relishes in. It would have also been a great Easter egg connecting Hawkeye with Eternals.

Eternals' and Hawkeye's timelines would have worked to facilitate Kingo being responsible for the Captain America musical. In the MCU timeline, the musical hit Broadway in late 2024, with Clint Barton taking his kids to the show at Christmas that year. Eternals takes place concurrently with Spider-Man: Far From Home, which is set during the summer of 2024. Broadway shows take time to put together, and Kingo could have been working on it long before The Emergence and subsequent kidnapping by Arishem. With Kingo somewhere in space at end of Eternals, a cameo in Hawkeye wouldn’t have been possible, but there still could have been a reference to the musical’s creator.

Notwithstanding that Marvel missed the opportunity in Hawkeye to pay off Kingo's love for Captain America, it's still a nice Easter egg in Eternals to see an immortal being having so much respect for a human. Its further shows how humans have had an impact upon the Eternals during their time on Earth compared to other planets, even if it's superficial/fanboy love. It's a shame therefore that Kingo still chose to leave the group, believing in Arishem's grand plan. Perhaps if Steve Rogers was still around as Captain America he would have felt differently.
