Hawkeye was 2021's fourth and last MCU series on Disney+, and it turned out to be a crowd-pleaser. Not only did the show bring back the Avengers' archer for an adventure of his own, but it also brought in two Marvel icons in guest roles.

It also featured the return of Black Widow's breakout character and introduced Kate Bishop to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. With so much greatness, what really helped the series shine was Hailee Steinfeld's performance as Kate. The character is now set up to become a big fan favorite in the MCU for years to come, despite making some very questionable decisions in Hawkeye.

When Kate Destroyed The Bell Tower

When the series first introduces Kate Bishop, she is at college with two of her friends. She was getting into trouble. This seems normal when seeing the origin story of a teenager who becomes a superhero. She had to learn from her mistakes.

Kate proved in this scene two things. First, she proved she was a master archer, which was essential for her hero. Second, she proved she was irresponsible, and she had a long way to go to become a likeable hero in Hawkeye.

When Kate Stole The Ronin Suit

Clint Barton, wearing his Ronin costume, stands over a defeated gangster.

Kate Bishop was at her mother's party in the first episode and was snooping around when she found a black market auction taking place in the basement. That is when two items shockingly came up for auction. These were Ronin's sword and his costume.

The Tracksuit Mafia then attacked and came in trying to get something that was up for auction. Instead of hiding or trying to escape, Kate stole the Ronin suit and this one act put a huge target on her head when Maya believed Kate was the original Ronin, who killed her father.

When Kate Attacked The Tracksuit Mafia

After getting the Ronin suit, Kate didn't just use it to get away. Instead, she used it to attack and fight the Tracksuit Mafia. While this group was mostly a joke to Hawkeye, for Kate they were deadly. She was able to deal with most of them, but that wasn't the point.

By attacking the Tracksuit Mafia, she immediately put her life in danger. Kate was not a superhero, and while she was talented, she wasn't suited to defend herself from an entire mafia organization.

When Kate Botched Her Rescue Of Clint

Hawkeye had a plan when it came to dealing with the Tracksuit Mafia. He had a Black Widow scheme where she would get captured, learn what she needed, and then escape. He did what he needed to do, but before he could get his information, Kate tried to save him.

The problem is that she fell through the skylight and ended up captured too. Because she did this on her own, it messed up Clint's plan and he had to rescue her and save himself.

When Kate Broke Into Maya's Apartment

Hawkeye finally broke down and agreed to work with Kate Bishop and they went to find something stolen from the black market auction. When they found the apartment where it was at, Hawkeye was setting up a plan to get in and Kate ran off on him.

Before he realized what was going on, Kate was crossing the street and breaking into the apartment. It showed her inexperience since this was Maya's apartment and had an alarm system, almost getting her and Hawkeye both killed.

When Kate Introduced Clint To Her Mother

Kate decided she and Hawkeye needed to investigate some leads so she took him back to her mother's apartment to break into the security system and look up evidence. This was a huge mistake and a very questionable decision by Kate.

She didn't even consider that her mother would be there, nor that her mother's fiancé Jack was there too. Because Kate did this, Clint was put into a tough spot and ended up with a hit put out on him by Kate's own mother.

When Kate Misjudged Jack Duquesne

The big mistake that Kate made in Hawkeye was believing that Jack Duquesne was the villain when it was her mother. This led Kate and Clint to extensively looking into Jack and Kate finally convinced her mother to turn in Jack to the police.

This was a misunderstanding because Jack was not a criminal. He was not one of Hawkeye's most intelligent characters, but he was not a criminal. Lucky for Kate, Jack came back and was there to help fight off the Tracksuit Mafia in the end.

When Kate Fought Yelena

Yelena Belova eats mac and cheese from a pot in Hawkeye.

One of the most questionable decisions that Kate Bishop made in the entire Hawkeye series was when she fought Yelena Belova. This was way out of Kate's league because Yelena was a trained Black Widow assassin, and she knew this before she went into the fight.

Credit has to be given to Kate for keeping a sense of innocence while fighting Yelena, but she was willing to fight an assassin trained by one of the most dangerous organizations in history in the Red Room. She had no way of winning this fight, and she was only lucky that Yelena is a good person.

When Kate Jumped Off The Skyscraper

Kate Bishop freefalls in Hawkeye.

Yelena Belova jumped out of the skyscraper and scaled down the building on a wire, trying to kill Hawkeye. This is something that she leaned in the Red Room, and she has likely done this countless times in the past.

Kate Bishop is a normal girl, albeit one that is athletically trained. No athletic training puts someone in the position to jump out of a skyscraper window, and Kate almost died when she did it. Only dumb luck saved her, helping her survive this questionable decision, although it proved she was one of Hawkeye's bravest characters.

When Kate Fought Kingpin

Vincent Donofrio as Kingpin in Hawkeye

The most questionable decision that Kate Bishop made on Hawkeye came when she started fighting Wilson Fisk, The Kingpin. This is one of the strongest, deadliest, and most dominating fighters in the entire Marvel Universe, and he is someone that even Hawkeye feared.

Credit has to go to Kate for saving her mother's life, even after learning her mom was a criminal. However, she took it a step further and started actively fighting Kingpin, and she is lucky she didn't end up dead. It was another example of Kate getting lucky at just the right time and living to fight another day.
