A fan-made poster envisions a Hawkeye Netflix solo series starring Jeremy Renner as Clint Barton. The Marvel Cinematic Universe has been growing and expanding across film and television for a decade now, ever since Marvel Studios released Iron Man in 2008. The television side of the MCU is younger, with Marvel TV's first show, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., debuting on ABC in 2013. But the small screen side has grown exponentially in five years, with shows airing on ABC, Netflix, and Hulu - and more to come on Freeform as well as Disney's upcoming streaming service.

The Netflix corner of the MCU is perhaps the most well known and widely praised part of the Marvel's push into television. With critically acclaimed series like Daredevil, Jessica Jones, and Luke Cage - as well as less well received series that still found an audience among fans like Iron Fist, The Defenders, and The Punisher - Netflix has arguably become the gold-standard for Marvel superhero dramas. As such, Marvel fans have been pushing for other comic characters to receive Netflix standalone series, including Hawkeye and Black Widow. Now, a new fan-made one-sheet envisions a Hawkeye TV show.

Hawkeye fan Tom (CyberSheff on Twitter) created a poster for a potential Netflix series starring Jeremy Renner as Clint Barton. The poster is inspired by artwork by David Aja, who worked with writer Matt Fraction on the Hawkeye comic book run from 2012-2015. Take a look at the poster below:

Hawkeye Netflix series isn't actually in the works, and Renner said as much last summer, which shouldn't come as much of a surprise to Marvel fans since characters from the movies have rarely appeared on TV. In the cases of movie and TV crossovers, secondary characters like Samuel L. Jackson's Nick Fury and Jaimie Alexander's Sif appeared on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. - and then never returned to the film side of the universe. Renner has supported a solo Hawkeye movie, but the 47-year-old actor said the studio shouldn't wait too long because he won't be up to continue the superhero role forever.

With the recent annoucement of Marvel Studios' Black Widow movie, Hawkeye is the lone founding Avengers team member not to receive a standalone film in the MCU. Like Scarlett Johansson's Natasha Romanoff, who made her debut in Iron Man 2, Renner's Clint Barton was introduced in a fellow Avenger's movie, that being 2011's Thor. But with Hawkeye being a fan-favorite character from the comics - especially since Fraction and Aja's critically acclaimed run - and The Avengers inspiring casual moviegoers' interest in the character, fans have long campaigned for Clint Barton to receive a solo project.

It's unclear of a solo Hawkeye movie or TV show is in the cards for Renner, but with Johansson finally receiving a Black Widow film, perhaps fans will one day be treated to Clint Barton's standalone installment in the MCU.
