Warning! Spoilers ahead for the Hawkeye finale.

Hawkeye's finale features a plot hole regarding the Avengers Tower placement in New York. Jeremy Renner's first headlining project as Clint Barton saw the character deal with the threat of his Ronin past coming back to haunt him. Ultimately, he was able to prevent any major personal catastrophe thanks to the help of his new prodigy, Kate Bishop (Hailee Steinfeld). But their shenanigans still resulted in a few incidents in New York with Hawkeye primarily set in the city. Since New York has been a major location in the MCU, it's been featured several times in the franchise over the years. At one point, it's where the Avengers headquarters were.

Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.) eventually renovated his New York home, previously called the Stark Tower, to be the Avengers Tower after the team's fight against Loki (Tom Hiddleston) in The Avengers. But after Avengers: Age of Ultron, they relocated upstate for a bigger facility in light of getting several new members. By Spider-Man: Homecoming, it's revealed that Tony Stark sold the building to an unknown buyer. Rumors suggest various possibilities as to who might own the tower, including Kingpin (Vincent D'Onofrio), who officially joined the MCU in the Hawkeye finale.

But while Marvel Studios doesn't seem to have any intentions of resolving this mystery any time soon, it may have forgotten where the landmark is located during the Hawkeye finale. As noted by Reddit user with the handle u/doormandude, an aerial shot in the Disney+ series showed the MetLife building which was supposedly where the Avengers Tower is in MCU's version of New York. This isn't the first time Hawkeye featured a Stark/Avengers Tower-related continuity error. The show's premiere featured a flashback to the Battle of New York where a young Kate watched Clint's most badass move during the whole fight against Loki. This inspired her to be a hero herself, especially on the heels of her dad's death. In the same scene, the aforementioned building was seen, but while The Avengers had the letters "S," "T," "R," and "K" all fall off Stark Tower's signage during the 2012 movie's final act battle, Hawkeye showed both the letters "A" and "K" from the building's name still intact.

Frankly, the first Hawkeye slip in relation to the Stark Tower's signage can easily be forgiven. After all, it doesn't impact the MCU's canon. But the finale's mistake about not featuring the Avengers Tower during the show's aerial shot is quite a big deal, especially at this point in the franchise's storytelling where parallel universes are being established. Fans have been very keen on these details as they try to decipher what's next for the MCU's burgeoning multiverse.
