In a Hawkeye deleted scene, Clint Barton tackles his Avengers fame and Kate Bishop pushes for her Boomerang trick arrow idea when buying supplies. The 2021 Disney+ series saw Jeremy Renner reprise his role of Clint Barton, while Hailee Steinfeld played hero-in-training Kate Bishop. Renner and Steinfeld star alongside Alaqua Cox, Vincent D'Onofrio, Linda Cardellini, Fra Fee, Florence Pugh, Tony Dalton, and Vera Farmiga.

Meeting the hero who saved her life during The Avenger's Battle of New York, Kate is taken under Clint's wing as he investigates the Tracksuit Mafia's interest in an item recovered from the destroyed Avengers compound. In the process, Kate questions Clint about many aspects of his superhero life, from his public perception, to his costume, and his trick arrows. In one exchange, Kate suggests that Clint develop a boomerang arrow that can return to him when fired, which was a nod to Matt Fraction's Hawkeye series that served as inspiration for the Disney+ series. Though Clint shoots down her idea, a newly revealed deleted scene reveals that Kate did not give up on her idea.

Speaking to the cashier, Clint is once more forced to deal with his Avengers fame, as the employee recognizes him and becomes excited. Clint does his best to keep up with the employee and ask for arrows, while Kate does her best to introduce herself as his partner. When Clint finally asks for arrows, Kate quickly asks for a boomerang, turning to Clint to tell him she wasn't giving up on her trick arrow idea. Check out the full deleted scene below.

Kate's trick arrow quest follows other recently released Hawkeye deleted scenes. Revealed by a YouTube fan account, the cut scene features an extended sequence that introduces D'Onofrio's Kingpin during Echo's episode 3 flashback. The sequence expands on the scene by fully showing Fisk, rather than the carefully framed shots that hid his identity in the final cut. Promotional material for the show has also hinted at scenes featuring Yelena (Pugh) were cut from the show's finale, as images showing the Black Widow assassin in a toy shop were released among other promotional material.

While Kate's boomerang arrow idea was rejected by Clint, her determination in this deleted scene proves she's still committed to the idea, and it could make a return in her future Avenger career. However, it is understandable why this scene was cut, despite continuing the boomerang arrow gag and showing more of Renner and Steinfeld's chemistry, the scene repeats details that audiences had already seen elsewhere. Despite this, fans will be excited to see more of Hawkeye while they wait for Kate's next adventure.
