Meryl Streep, Kevin Smith, and Judi Dench have now all spoke out against producer and movie mogul Harvey Weinstein. The big-name film producer is being accused of sexual harassment by multiple women, including Ashley Judd and Rose McGowan. Being one of the biggest heavy hitters in all of Hollywood, plenty of actors who have worked with Weinstein have come out against him, while others are still remaining silent.

Weinstein has made his mark on Hollywood, having produced movies such as Gangs of New York, Pulp Fiction, and The Hateful Eight. However, while Weinstein might have had close ties to most A-list celebrities around Hollywood, most of those relationships have now been severed due to these revelations of sexual misconduct going against him.

No celebrity seems to be happy with Harvey Weinstein. Everyone is either staying quiet or speaking out against him. Huffington Post received a statement from Mery Streep, revealing that she is horribly upset by what she has learned about Weinstein. In addition to Streep, EW has a statement from Judi Dench, calling the situation absolutely horrifying. Meanwhile, THR has an official statement from Kevin Smith, who says he is ashamed to be associated with Weinstein at all.

Streep and Weinstein have worked together on a few projects, including The Iron Lady and August: Osage County. While the actress claims that not everyone knew about what he was doing, she did shame Weinstein for his actions:

"The disgraceful news about Harvey Weinstein has appalled those of us whose work he championed, and those whose good and worthy causes he supported. The intrepid women who raised their voices to expose this abuse are our heroes."

Dench and Smith both came out claiming similar things, with Smith particularly being upset about having had Weinstein finance some of his films, including Clerks and Mall Rats:

"He financed the first 14 years of my career and now I know while I was profiting, others were in terrible pain. It makes me feel ashamed."

The desire to not be associated with Harvey Weinstein seems to growing. Actors such as Lena Dunham, Mark Ruffalo, and Amber Tamblyn have all been open about their disgust since the allegations were revealed. Even Harvey Weinstein's own company, The Weinstein Company, fired him from his position after he refused to quit. It leads to the assumption that no one in Hollywood really believes that these are allegations and are more under the assumption that these are facts. Throughout the years, Weinstein has had a dubious reputation (to put it politely), but those rumors have now turned into something much more severe.

There is something to be said about these accusations only coming to light now. It raises questions about who exactly knew the truth about Weinstein (or, if not that, has reasonable suspicions), but was willing to turn a blind eye in order to work alongside him in the past. The months ahead may shed more light on the situation, possibly revealing which celebrities were aware of his behavior but didn't want to speak out against him, until now.
