The Marvel Cinematic Universe and the Harry Potter series might not have a lot in common on their surface, but they do share many similarities in how they function in pop culture. They can both be classified as fantasy adventure stories in a way even though the universes of these franchises are very different.

Plus, they are both extremely popular series that have millions of fans throughout the world. One interesting thing to do is to compare how characters from these franchises are similar and to imagine how characters from one world would act if transported to the other. So, we’ve put together a list of the wizarding world careers that MCU characters would excel in.

Nick Fury: Minister of Magic

Nick Fury and Tony Stark in The Avengers

Nick Fury in the MCU is the Director of SHIELD, and he has a ton of experience and wisdom because of this. So, for these reasons, he would make a great Minister of Magicgiven his ability to oversee important operations and many people.

Also, as Director of SHIELD he sometimes engages in some shady dealings in a way that many politicians do.

Doctor Strange: Ancient Runes Professor

Doctor Strange has magical powers that seem rather well-suited to the world of Harry Potter.

While he might not use Ancient Runes in the same way that they are talking about in the wizarding world, the magic he does use is rather old and even involves making runes out of thin air. While he’d likely be a rather strict and arrogant professor, he would also hold his students to high standards.

Captain Marvel: Head of Department of Magical Transportation

Captain Marvel was a hard character to place because she has many skills and powers. She could do well in many roles including fighting evil wizards or even something more playful like Quidditch. However, because of her ability to literally fly through space, it makes sense that she would be the Head of the Department of Magical Transportation.

With her alien powers, she would be able to revolutionize how transportation functions in the wizarding world, and she would work directly with many other important Department Heads.

Shuri: Wandmaker

Shuri in Black Panther

Shuri is the smartest character in the MCU, and she uses science and her brilliant mind to create powerful, groundbreaking technology.

In the wizarding world, this translates into making the most powerful tool that a witch or wizard needs: a wand. She would be the world’s best wandmaker because of her ability to innovate.

Hulk: Dragon Keeper

Hulk is a hard character to match with a wizarding world carer because there are two personalities at play here. The first is Bruce Banner who would excel being a Hogwarts professor given that he’s a scientist in the MCU.

But, the Hulk, because of his sheer size and strength, would be able to do the job of Dragon Keeper exceptionally well.

Thor: Professional Quidditch Player

Thor is definitely more of a leader than some fans give him credit for, but as he’s the main warrior of the group, it makes sense that he would do something athletic as a career if he was in the wizarding world.

He would be the Quidditch player that everyone loved, and he would likely always lead his team to win the World Cup.

Black Widow: Curse Breaker

Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow

Black Widow might not have superpowers like most of the other Avengers do, but she makes up for this with her nearly superhuman fighting and spy skills. She would be great at doing a dangerous job that requires intellect, finesse, athleticism, and the ability to sneak around in places.

As such, she would make a great Curse Breaker. She’s also rather fearless and brave, so even if she found herself in scary situations, she would make it out okay.

Captain America: Head Auror

While most of the heroes on this list would probably be Aurors technically, as the Avengers are also an elite team that looks to protect others from the harm that super-powered villains can cause, Captain America makes the most sense as Head Auror.

This is because he also is a leader of the Avengers and because his character has always centered around wanting to protect others.

Black Panther: Head of the Department of International Relations

T'Challa in the UN in Black Panther

Black Panther is another leader as he’s both the King of Wakanda and likely to be made a leader of the Avengers in upcoming MCU films.

He’s also extremely smart and diplomatic, and he would definitely be great in the role of Head of the Department of International Relations. With his charisma and ability to inspire others, he could influence many people to do the right thing.

Iron Man: Head of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement

Iron Man is the leader, or co-leader, of the Avengers for most of the films in the MCU. As such, he has a great ability to lead people, but he can also get too caught up in power and be rather arrogant.

Because of this, it would make sense that he would have an important job in the wizarding world such as Head of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement. However, he would likely break a lot of rules and be rather disrespectful to others at the Ministry.
