Brave at heart. Daring nerve. Chivalry. Every Harry Potter fan has heard it before, has it memorized. Gryffindors are the action house. But yet, there is an understanding that characters like Neville and Peter Pettigrew can end up in the house of gold and red as well. So how do Gryffindors and Taurus match up?

Hufflepuff is the earth house, not Gryffindor. But still, Taurus seem to have far more in common with Gryffindor house members than not. Here are just a few of the major traits Taurus and Gryffindors have in common, along with a few that vary quite widely.

Typical - Dependable

The bravery inherent in members of Gryffindor house makes them particularly dependable, just like a good Taurus. Gryffindors are always ready to jump into action and ask far fewer questions than any other house would when it comes to assisting with questionable tasks.

This makes them good and dependable friends and acquaintances to have on hand for major projects, issues, or screw-ups. A Gryffindor is not likely to leave a friend hanging when a three-headed dog, baby dragon, or terrible teacher starts causing trouble in the vicinity.

Not - Comfort in Consistency

Taurus may be very grounded and comfortable with schedules and consistency, but Gryffindors like a little bit more action and adventure in their daily lives (unless, of course, you're Neville). Gryffindors, especially Harry, Fred, and George, are always ready to sneak out and change things up. Regular schedules or sleeping patterns are not adored by Gryffindors overall.

Gryffindors like to shake things up, throw parties in the common room, test skiving snack boxes, and have exams canceled. The change is what keeps all good Gryffindors interested.

Typical - Stubborn

Like Harry himself, Taurus have quite the stubborn streak. Of course, Harry ends up being right about Malfoy being a Death Eater in Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince, but he's quite a pain in the neck while he's trying to convince everyone else.

He's also unwilling to consider that Sirius is not in trouble at the Ministry of Magic in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. While Harry's stubbornness can get him into trouble, as well as save the day, the fact is it matches up perfectly with any Taurus anywhere in the world.

Not - Honesty

Taurus are known for being honest above all else and, well, Gryffindors are not. Consider Fred and George hiding the Marauders Map. Think about Harry not talking about his scar hurting, or the dreams he's having about Voldemort. Gryffindors like to look tough and play things close to the chest.

They are not being cruel or underhanded, they just don't like being judged or seen as weak. Gryffindors are not all about the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth as most Taurus are.

Typical - Getting the Job Done

Gryffindor bravery and a willingness to jump in whenever it's necessary certainly matches up nicely with Taurus traits in general. Gryffindors are not afraid of most things, and that includes getting the job done.

From fighting through terrible weather to win a quidditch match, to fighting off fully grown dark wizards, and finally taking back the House Cup, Gryffindor doesn't fail to rise to any challenge and get it done (even if they are not always the most organized). Gryffindor could be more organized, but they certainly always finish what they start.

Not - Ambition

Gryffindor house may enjoy success earning the House Cup and the Quidditch Cup during Harry's tenure at Hogwarts, but they are not ambitious in the same way Taurus and Slytherin house are. Gryffindors live much more in the moment.

They celebrate their victories but, with the exception of Hermione, they don't really plan for them. Gryffindors are a bit too preoccupied with the heart of the moment and the immediate necessities to plan for greater success down the road, though they often find that success anyway.

Typical - Not Fond of Authority

As Dumbledore tells Harry, he displays a "certain disregard for the rules". Like the Marauders, as well as Fred and George, before him, Harry carries on the great tradition of Gryffindor rule breakers at Hogwarts.

While Gryffindor rule-breaking isn't seen as malicious in the way that Slytherins are, they still ignore authority quite a bit more often than members of Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw house. Taurus too have issues with authority figures and chafe under their rules. That fits perfectly with any Gryffindor personality.

Not - Resistance to Change

Members of Gryffindor house, unlike Taurus, are ready for change, rather than resistant to it. Change is required if they are to beat Slytherin for the House Cup.

Change is necessary if they are going to play heroes and save the Wizarding World from Voldemort and old entrenched discrimination and policies. A Taurus may be more set in their ways than a Gryuffindor, whose thirst for adventure will always make them far more open to change than others.

Typical - Procrastination

Just count all the times Harry and Ron desperately had to beg Hermione to help them get through their homework and it's clear that Gryffindors are not always the most organized in getting their work done.

While both Gryffindors and Taurus work hard to complete their work, they don't always plan to do so in advance, and the procrastination is easy to spot on the page and screen. Hermione stands out among standard Gryffindors for getting her work done in advance.

Not - Perfectionists

Taurus are known for being perfectionists and, well, Gryffindors are not. The procrastination highlighted by Ron and Harry makes it hard for any work coming from Gryffindor students to be perfect once it hits a teacher's desk.

Taurus may want their work to be as good as possible by the time it's finished, but a lot of Gryffindors are just happy that the work gets finished at all. Ron and Harry certainly are.
