Harry Potter star Rupert Grint says he's ready to return to the role of Ron Weasley in future projects should they be proposed. The British children's book series about an orphaned wizard boy who survives the killing curse of the evil Lord Voldemort spawned one of the highest-grossing franchises of all time, incorporating films, amusement parks, video games, and more based on the Wizarding World. Daniel Radcliffe starred as the boy who lived alongside Grint as Ronald Weasley, Harry's best friend, and Emma Watson as bookish Hermione Granger. The trio rose to international fame, appearing in all eight films between 2001 and 2011.

Radcliffe and Watson soon went on to have successful acting careers, but after wrapping on Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows- Part 2, Grint briefly considered leaving acting altogether. Most recently, Grint made headlines for welcoming his baby Wednesday Grint. Though he was initially limited by being inextricably linked to his most famous role, Grint has found success on television, most notably as a lead in M. Night Shyamalan's Servant.

Speaking in an interview with ComicBook, Grint said that after nearly a decade, he'd be open to the idea of returning to the Wizarding World. Aside from the Fantastic Beasts prequels, which star an entirely new cast, the film series has been dormant. There's no word on whether a story featuring the grown-up original trio is headed to the big screen anytime soon, but Grint is ready for it if it comes. Check out his full quote:

"I don't know. I mean, never say never. I would never say, 'Absolutely no.' It was a huge part of my life and I'm very fond of that character and their stories. So yeah, I mean, I'd be up for it at the right time. I don't know what capacity that would be, but yeah, we'll see."

There's no shortage of love for these actors and the franchise as a whole. The reveal of a roleplaying game based on the series, Hogwarts Legacy, set off an Internet-wide hype train slowed only by the controversial opinions of the author of the books, JK Rowling. Rowling has consistently come under fire for transphobic statements, which the likes of Grint have come out against publicly. Art versus artist debates frequently rock the fandom, but not enough to displace the enduring love that fans have for the series.

It's unclear how Rupert Grint could grace the silver screen as Ron Weasley again. Ron appears as a grown-up with a family in the sequel play Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, which a large swath of the fandom is eager to strike from the canon. Still, Fantastic Beasts recently lost one of its most recognizable stars in Johnny Depp, and there's no question that a Harry Potter sequel would be a smash hit at the box office. Surely some producer is ready to take Grint up on his offer.
