Ravenclaw is known as the house which produces the sharpest witches and wizards from among all Hogwarts students. Although Ravenclaws are not traditionally known to be as ambitious or powerful as students from Slytherin or Gryffindor, they are still some of the brightest of the lot.
In the Harry Potter universe, unlike many Slytherin or Gryffindor witches and wizards, Ravenclaws do not usually come from wizarding families with traditional wealth. Regardless of that, some of the richest and most powerful people of the wizarding world belong to this house. When money is not inherited, it can surely be acquired, and it looks like wisdom- a quality which the house treasures- comes in quite handy for that.
Xenophilius Lovegood
Luna Lovegood's father and the editor of The Quibbler magazine, Xenophilius Lovegood sowed the seed of the eccentricities Luna is characterized by. Although he was not the richest or the smartest wizard around, one thing he could boast of was family wealth. Reflected in his fancy robes, necklaces, and accessories, or his quaint house by the sea, he had enough money saved in the bank for running his magazine, sending Luna to school, and leading a comfortable life.
He went on to run The Quibbler after the Battle of Hogwarts, which kept adding to his fortune slowly but steadily.
Quirinus Quirrell
The Defense Against Dark Arts professor during Harry's first year at Hogwarts, Quirrell was proficient in the discipline. He also harbored an interest in magical creatures, as is made evident by his guarding of the mountain troll. Before teaching DADA, he was the professor for Muggle Studies for quite some time.
Besides being at Hogwarts for a while, Quirrell is also bound to have family wealth, since he became a part of the Death Eaters. Voldemort’s followers usually seek people with some generational wealth to join their ranks. Someone who can afford a year-long world tour (before his final year at Hogwarts, when Quirrell met Lord Voldemort) is not one with an empty Gringotts account, that can be said with certainty!
Sybill Trelawney
Professor Trelawney is not just the teacher of divination at Hogwarts, she is also a talented seer and had made two important prophecies which marked important events signifying the trajectory of Lord Voldemort. After being replaced by Firenze, she eventually came back to co-teach the Divination course post-the Battle of Hogwarts.
Besides being a long-term professor, she also belongs to a wealthy and reputed family as she is the granddaughter of Cassandra Trelawney, another well-known seer. Her generational wealth- coupled with a steady salary at Hogwarts- makes her an obvious addition to the Ravenclaw rich list.
Luna Lovegood
Despite being a little eccentric, Luna Lovegood is one of the brightest and most talented Ravenclaw witches. A close friend of the Golden Trio and an important member of Dumbledore's Army, Luna took a keen interest in magical creatures.
This passion of hers eventually led to her becoming a renowned magizoologist (an expert who studies magical creatures). She discovered a number of new magical species, carrying forward the legacy of her father-in-law Newt Scamander, who was perhaps the most prominent magizoologist of all time. This did not earn her just fame, but also quite a fortune!
Filius Flitwick
The seasoned professor of charms and the head of the house, Filius Flitwick embodies all Ravenclaw values. He was also highly skilled in defense against dark arts, and led the choir at Hogwarts.
A wizard with a keen eye to detail and a sharp presence of mind, he served at Hogwarts for a very long time, which is bound to have helped me secure a significant amount of money to his name. Besides his teaching career, he also went on to invent several new spells, which could, in turn, earn him whopping amounts from any magician looking to upskill themselves.
Milicent Bagnold
Milicent Bagnold served as the British Minister of Magic between 1980 and 1990. She was a smart and courageous witch, and went as far as breaking the Statute of Secrecy by allowing wizards and witches to clebrate after Voldemort's defeat. Succeeded by Cornelius Fudge, Bagnold was one of the most efficient ministers of magic and headed the ministry during the initial rise of Voldemort and the Death Eaters.
Coming from a magical family, she quickly rose the ranks within the ministry, securing both money and fame for herself. Her long stint at the Ministry definitely added on to her family wealth.
Garrick Ollivander
The leading wandmaker in all of the UK, Ollivander's store at Diagon Alley is one of a kind and attracts every single student attending Hogwarts, as a wand is not something they can go without. Although the individual wands are not all that expensive, being the only outlet that sells them for Hogwarts indicates that Ollivander might have made a sizeable income from all the wand sales put together.
Ollivander has an impeccable memory when it comes to the science of wandmaking. As he is the only person to sell these wands, he is also aware of the contents of each wizard and witch's wands and is hence able to recognize their strengths and weaknesses. Based on these, it is obvious that his knowledge is worth a lot more than his sales, and he can charge a huge fee from any wizard who might seek his help regarding the same.
Ignatia Wildsmith
One of the lesser-known Ravenclaws, Ignatia Wildsmith is credited with the discovery of floo powder. This discovery was made possible by her keen interest in herbology.
Through this discovery, she was able to open up an entirely new network of transportation and communication in the wizarding world. This network enabled magicians who were unable to access a portkey or were unskilled in apparition to travel seamlessly. Such a groundbreaking discovery alone was enough for Ignatia to make quite a fortune.
Rowena Ravenclaw
One of the four founding members of Hogwarts, Rowena Ravenclaw was a renowned Scottish witch known for her intelligence and creativity. Born to a wealthy family, she even owned one of the most precious objects in the wizarding world- her famous enchanted diadem, which was later stolen by her daughter Helena.
Widely known for her proficiency in charms, much of Rowena's wealth is reflected in the grandeur of the wizarding school itself. However, in spite of her talent and fame, she died a sad and lonely death, leaving behind her fortune for the development of the school of witchcraft and wizardry.
Gilderoy Lockhart
One of the most charming wizards- and professors- Hogwarts has ever seen, Gilderoy Lockhart taught Defense Against Dark Arts during Harry's second year at the school. At his prime, he was a household name among all wizarding families, owing to his array of bestselling books. Although it was eventually revealed that the tales he wrote of were not his own experiences, that hardly affected the popularity of his books, as this information was not widespread, thanks to Harry and Ron.
He was one of the richest and most popular Hogwarts professors. Besides his salary at Hogwarts, he also earned a significant amount of money from book signings and other promotional events. He might have had a few more titles to his name if he had not suffered from a loss of memory during Harry's second year at Hogwarts.
