The official trailer for HBO Max's Harry Potter reunion special will arrive tomorrow. Though author J.K. Rowling has become a controversial figure due to her anti-trans views, the Harry Potter franchise is busier than it has been in years. This year's 20th anniversary of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone has led to multiple Wizarding World-related events, including the trivia show Hogwarts Tournament of Houses. Additionally, the first trailer for 2022's Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore arrived just yesterday.

Perhaps most excitingly, the original cast of Harry Potter is set to reunite in an upcoming HBO Max special. Announced last month, Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts will see numerous stars from all 8 films sit down to discuss the enduring legacy of the fantasy franchise, as well as go behind the scenes in how it was made. The biggest selling point of the entire special is that, for the first time in years, the main trio of Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint will reunite onscreen.

Fans have been offered various peeks at the Return to Hogwarts reunion, but the biggest will arrive tomorrow. As announced by HBO Max, the official trailer for the Harry Potter special will premiere on December 15. The news was accompanied by a poster depicting some familiar rowboats approaching Hogwarts. Return to Hogwarts will premiere on HBO Max on New Year's Day. Check out the poster and trailer announcement below.

So far, HBO Max has revealed a teaser trailer for the Harry Potter reunion, as well as an official image of Radcliffe, Watson, and Grint sitting together once again. Presumably, tomorrow's trailer will provide actual looks at the special itself; whereas the teaser offered only tantalizing glimpses of stars like Robbie Coltrane and Matthew Lewis, the official trailer should hopefully include clips from the Harry Potter special. As the Golden Trio image confirmed, filming has already taken place, so there should be ample footage to spotlight in the trailer.

Harry Potter remains one of the most beloved franchises out there even as Rowling continues to alienate fans. It's been noted that Rowling will not appear in the Harry Potter reunion, though it isn't clear if that is exclusively because of her recent controversies. Many fans are just happy to see those like Radcliffe, Watson, and Grint back together again; their presence alone will surely pull in plenty of viewers. Fans can get a better idea of how Return to Hogwarts will be structured when the trailer arrives tomorrow. Hopefully, it will be as magical as the Wizarding World itself.
