Although Gryffindor and Slytherin seem to hog all of the Hogwarts house glory (at least in the Harry Potter book and film series), the houses of Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw are equally as important and valuable, and the students within each house are as interesting and compelling as many of the lions and snakes.

Ravenclaw is a house known for intelligence and learning, so most of it's students reflect that. And while many Ravenclaws are very lovable, some of them are downright vile. So with that in mind, here are the most recognizable Ravenclaws, ranked by likability.

Quirinus Quirrell

Clearly, Professor Quirrell is the most dislikable Ravenclaw in the entire Harry Potter series. He seemed like a sweet and soft spoken man, but he was literally walking around with the reincarnation of evil on the back of his head.

And while Harry was nearly getting killed in every single installment of the series, the fact that Quirrell was trying to murder a first year makes him extra awful.

Moaning Myrtle

Moaning Myrtle may have inadvertently saved the day a few times in her long career as a Hogwarts ghost, but ultimately she's still just about the most irritating Ravenclaw in the history of the house.

Granted, she was killed by a basilisk when she was still a child, so she does have a fair bit to moan about, but there is no reason to torment most of the school because of her misfortune.

Gilderoy Lockhart

Perhaps Gilderoy Lockhart deserves to be a notch lower on the list, but at least he tries to be charming and likable, even if it's only for his own glorification and attention seeking behaviors.

He's also an astoundingly dim witted Ravenclaw, it would seem that his lone gift for obliviation is what granted him access to the house of "wit beyond measure is man's greatest pleasure".

Sybil Trelawney

Professor Trelawney is definitely one of the more unique teachers at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, but overall she seems to be a pretty decent person.

She clearly takes divination too seriously and she probably shouldn't be prophesying that her tweenage students are constantly in mortal danger, but she has good intentions and a kind heart. Her ability to think outside the box would have done Rowena Ravenclaw proud.

Garrick Ollivander

Mr. Ollivander embodies the excellence that Ravenclaw house seems to expect from it's students, as there is likely no wand maker in the world that can surpass his skilled craftsmanship and ability to pick the right wand for the right witch or wizard.

The biggest blemish on his character is that he gave in when Voldemort tortured him, but it takes an extremely strong willed wizard to withstand the torture that Voldemort has to offer.

Helena Ravenclaw

Helena Ravenclaw is yet another Ravenclaw character who has her good points and bad points. When she was actually alive, she took her mother's precious diadem and left for Albania, and was tragically murdered when Rowena sent the Bloody Baron to retrieve her.

But when Voldemort himself chose to profane the diadem with his Horcrux magic, Helena decided to help Harry Potter to destroy the abomination that Voldy had created, which was a great redeeming moment for her.

Rowena Ravenclaw

Like every other founder of a Hogwarts house, Rowena Ravenclaw was one of the greatest witches who ever lived. And she unsurprisingly had a very bright idea when she decided to focus on the cleverest students at Hogwarts, because that kind of intellect and ingenuity is how magic has been able to progress for centuries.

Of course, the creation of Hogwarts in the first place was a brilliant plan, and she changed the wizarding world by participating in it's formation.

Filius Flitwick

Flitwick casts a spell in Harry Potter.

Professor Flitwick is rarely at the front and center of the films or the books, but he is undeniably one of the coolest and most charming (pun intended) teachers at Hogwarts. He may be one of the most powerful wizards alive, but he's not one to brag about it.

As a part goblin, he has faced a lot of prejudice from the wizarding world, but that didn't stop him from educating thousands of witches and wizards as well as standing up against Lord Voldemort to defend wizardkind.

Cho Chang

Cho is arguably the second most recognizable Ravenclaw in the entire Harry Potter franchise, and it's easy to see why the titular hero of this saga was so intrigued and enthralled by her.

Cho is clever, kind, accepting, brave, and loyal, and she's the kind of student who could have likely found a place to fit in every Hogwarts house. But she wound up in Ravenclaw, and the house is better off for it.

Luna Lovegood

Of course, no character from Ravenclaw is more likable and beloved than Loony Lovegood. Although she is an oddball, she is one of the kindest and cleverest characters in the series.

She is creative, unique, strong, incredibly loyal to her friends, and more than willing to take it on the chin when other students tease her for being so strange. Her insights and ideas literally changed the course of the Harry Potter story for the better.
