Inventions created by Muggles are mostly ignored in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter because of magical superiority and laws. However, some look upon or study Muggle technology with curiosity and even fascination. Arthur Weasley is one such wizard.

Whether through work or hobbies, Arthur is captivated by Muggles and how they go about their lives without magic. He would especially love their inventions, particularly those that gained prominence in the 21st century. Technology has evolved since the 1990s events of the books, and Arthur would be thrilled if he was given any of these Muggle creations.

A Bicycle

A Grand Theft Auto Bicycle

Muggle vehicles are known to wizardkind because of the Hogwarts Express and the Knight Bus, but singular riding vehicles seem non-existent. After all, why would wizards want to ride bicycles when they have broomsticks or fantastic beasts? In Arthur's case, not only would he want to ride one, he would like to see how it works.

Bicycles appeared in the books and films, but were used only by Muggles. In Deathly Hallows, Harry, Ron, and Hermione came across Sirius' childhood room, which held a bicycle, possibly to the ire of his fanatical family. Arthur would not have such a view if he were to obtain one and studied the gears, brakes, and pulleys.

A Firearm

Uncle Vernon threatens Hagrid with a gun in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone

Inappropriately referred to as a "fireleg" by Kingsley Shacklebolt in Order of the Phoenix, a firearm is something that could pique Arthur's interest because of his work at the Ministry of Magic. Larger firearms such as cannons are known to wizardkind given their appearances in Goblet of Fire and the Chudley Cannons Quidditch team, but smaller firearms like guns are different.

The series is no stranger to guns, Vernon Dursley owned a rifle and failed to scare Hagrid with it in Sorcerer's Stone. Wizardkind, however, seems somewhat oblivious to them, as shown in Prisoner of Azkaban when the Daily Prophet described a gun as "a kind of metal wand that Muggles used to kill each other." The Ministry could put Arthur's fascination with Muggle engineering to good use in figuring out how a gun works for the safety of the Wizarding World.

A Rubik's Cube

A Small Rubik's Cube

Wizards could have been amused when this famous invention was patented as the Magic Cube by Erno Rubik in 1975. Yet, if a wizard were to get their hands on a Rubik's Cube, they could treat it as if it were magic because of its complexity and difficulty of solving.

If Arthur were to be a given a Rubik's Cube, not only would he take it apart to see the internal mechanism of the cube, he would also go to great lengths to solve it. Wizards could even have an easier time handling one since they can use their wands to move the pieces. Whether one can be solved or not is a different matter since, according to a scene in the Sorcerer's Stone book that was not included in the movie, "a lot of the greatest wizards haven't got an ounce of logic."

A Pen And Pencil

Quills and ink bottles are as essential to wizardkind as a wand, yet Muggles have gotten them beat by at least two centuries because of the evolution and creation of pens and pencils. Arthur admired Muggles for their ability to live without magic, but he would be just as amazed by how Muggles improve on everyday objects.

Retractable pens and mechanical pencils in particular would fascinate Arthur because of their engineering and design. As written in Order of the Phoenix, Arthur's office was full of pictures showing the internals of various devices like a car engine and a plug. Arthur would have a field day taking apart a retractable pen or a mechanical pencil, seeing how they work, and putting it back together.

A Space Suit

Wizardkind and Muggles seem to share the study of Astronomy, planets, and the stars. However, while the Ministry's Department of Mysteries has a room that is not unlike a planetarium, Muggles have gone up to space and studied the universe's wonders. Space travel is something only the most trained Muggle astronauts could do, and Arthur would surely cherish an item so valuable and rare.

There are no recorded incantations that are helpful for possible space travel. The closest is the Bubble-Head Charm which grants the caster a continuous supply of oxygen, and even then, it is mainly applied underwater. A Space Suit is a smorgasbord Muggle technology that includes a helmet, water pump, special radio, and oxygen tank.

A Pacemaker

Healing magic was commonplace throughout the franchise, from spells that mended broken bones to potions that cured sicknesses. However, characters like Mad-Eye Moody and Professor Kettleburn showed that there were still some limitations as to what magic could heal. While Muggle medicine and doctors were viewed as "primitive" by wizardkind, Arthur expressed some interest in Order of the Phoenix.

There is a precedence for magical implants through Moody's magical eye, but at the same time, there are spells that assist in the operation of some vital organs. It is possible wizards may not need something like a Pacemaker and other devices that help the heart, but it is still a device that would catch Arthur's attention. It satisfies both his technological and medical curiosity.

A Personal Computer

Computers are perhaps one of the greatest scientific inventions of all time. They revolutionized how humanity operated and paved the way for further technological breakthroughs and the importance of computer programmers. Computer technology is even more advanced in the 21st century than during the 1990s, so a complete, modern personal computer setup would be perfect for Arthur.

In addition to taking it apart to see how it works, Arthur would have a field day using the different programs of a computer that, in some ways, are far superior to certain aspects of wizard life. The internet in particular is something that would fascinate Arthur. J.K. Rowling provided in supplementary writings that wizard life is superior to the internet, but that was the 1990s. Arthur and many other wizards could be swayed more by the 21st century web.

A Credit Or Debit Card

An Apple Credit Card

Gringotts Wizarding Bank is one of the essential wizarding institutions and a great place to visit at Universal Studios. However, the series' monetary transactions and bank visits seem to do it the old-fashioned way with physical withdrawals and coin payments. Credit cards cut down on a lot of the middle hassle in money, and such a small yet unassuming piece of technology would be something that catches Arthur's attention.

Not only would the card's technology through the EMV Chip fascinate Arthur, but it would also open his eyes to the Muggle world's banking system as a whole. It may take some practice on Arthur's part, but once he learns the immeasurable convenience of a credit card, he might be hard-pressed to return to the antiquated system that wizards use.

A Quadcopter Drone

A drone and its accessories

While remote-controlled aircraft and toys have been around, it was not until the 21st century that they became widely applicable for other uses, most notably drones and onboard cameras. Quadcopter-type drones in particular have become widespread for consumer use, with their usage ranging from delivery to aerial photography. Giving Arthur an old remote plane could be good, but it would be better if he were given a modern drone.

Of course, Arthur would naturally try to take the thing apart, but he would experience the real magic when he controls it and sees the sky through the camera. Levitating objects through the famous Wingardium Leviosa spell is child's play, but the drone again plays into Arthur's admiration for the Muggles' ability to live without magic. Furthermore, a drone is another step in Arthur solving his greatest ambition: How airplanes stay up in the sky.

A SmartPhone

Motorola All-Screen Display Smartphone

Telephones, or "fellytones," as Ron called them, are frowned upon by wizardkind because of Owl Post and the Floo Network. The charm and application of these are undeniable, but they are arguably lightyears behind one of the greatest inventions of Muggles. Combining a telephone, a camera, a computer, and a music player, the SmartPhone is as essential to a human today as clothing.

Any branded SmartPhone would be perfect for Arthur to tinker with and explore various programs, apps, and the internet. It is the ideal device for Arthur to see the ingenuity of Muggles and how our technology has jumped leaps and bounds from the books' era of the 1990s and its medieval setting.
