The trailer for the Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery mobile game reveals pre-registration is open for potential players. Fans of the Harry Potter franchise have long dreamed of being able to walk the halls of Hogwarts School Of Witchcraft and Wizardry, attending classes, talking with their favorite characters and having their own magical adventures. That dream will soon be a reality through the magic of mobile gaming, thanks to Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery.

Based on the writings of J.K. Rowling, whose books have inspired both the Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them film franchises, Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery is one of the most highly anticipated games of 2018. Developed by mobile game studio Jam City in partnership with Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment under the Portkey Games label, details about the upcoming game have been as heavily guarded as The Philosopher's Stone and as difficult to find as a Golden Snitch in a game of Quidditch.

An official announcement regarding the new game was posted on Pottermore and has unveiled some of the mystery. This coincided with the release of the second trailer for Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery, which can be viewed above.

Harry Potter Hogwart's Mystery Trailer

The trailer confirms that Hogwarts Mystery will be a role-playing game that will place players in the robes of a new student at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. It is unclear if the game will be set during the events of the Harry Potter books or if Harry and his friends Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley will be in the game. It is clear, however, that the game will feature the Hogwarts teachers from the books, including Professor Dumbledore, Hagrid the Gamekeeper and the four school house leaders, including Professor Snape. Players will also be able to choose which Hogwarts house they will join - Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff, Slytherin or Gryffindor.

It appears that the game will have some sort of social element in which the player's interactions with other characters determines what companions they might acquire to help them on their quests. There will also be some sort of crafting mechanic allowing the player to create potions as part of their studies and a dueling mini-game in which the player attempts to disarm another wizard. Presumably these skills and items will come into play in the adventure sections of the game, in which your wizard does battle with various mystic beasts.

All in all, this trailer offers Harry Potter fans good reason to be hopeful regarding the final game and all the more incentive to register for it now. Aspiring wizards and witches can apply to receive an owl once the game is ready to be downloaded at the source link below.
