With the excitement surrounding the upcoming Hogwarts Legacy game (which is due in 2023), one thing is crystal clear — Harry Potter always has and always will positively influence generations of kids and adults alike for a long time. Potterheads have found comfort, conflict, and camaraderie in the series in equal measure, and the fandom of Harry Potter is one of the most devoted ones in the world.

Harry Potter fans, especially those of the books and movies, pride themselves on how well they know each and every detail of the series. True Potterheads live and breathe the story of The Boy Who Lived, and they consider their lives dedicated to the franchise.
The iconic round glasses and the lightning bolt scar are the biggest markers of the Potter diehard, apart from the Deathly Hallows symbol, so its natural that that figures into the meme too.
From 2001 to 2022
Somewhere between the release of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone in 2001, its epic ending in 2011, and the release of Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them in 2016, the first fans of the franchise grew up.
Still, the oldest fans of the series have stuck with it well after adulthood, and continue to put on their robes and glasses to attend the premieres of the newer movies the exact way they did for the first one. This fandom will likely live on forever.
The Snape Debate
Snape was a divisive character among fans, with most supporting his actions, both courageous and questionable, and a few calling him out on his behavior with students (which was less than savory).
Yet, many Potterheads believe that Snape was a great man who sacrificed his whole life to help Dumbledore with his mission, excusing his misdemeanors. Each side has their own valid points, but the debate gets funny now and then.
Waiting For The Hogwarts Letter
The Hogwarts Express scenes left watchers enthralled, and since they saw Harry get his letter, fans have been vocal about how they didn't get theirs or it got lost in the mail somewhere.
The running joke continues to date where Potterheads have made it quite clear that they would do just about anything to get that letter, hop onto the train, and go to their dream school.
Nobody Likes Umbridge
While Snape may be a contentious topic, one character is most hated without fail — Dolores Umbridge. No Potter fan could actually like the sadistic teacher and administrator, and she falls squarely into the category of most hated things: bad Wi-Fi, low battery, and a buffering circle.
She was evil incarnate with absolutely no redemption of any sort. Umbridge only deserves hate in the Potter fandom.
The Fashion Critique
While the world revolves around Harry Potter for them, fans aren't afraid to critique the bad parts of the movies. One aspect of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, which all fans universally felt disappointed in, was the outfits the characters wore to the Yule Ball.
Indians were confused by the lacklustre outfits that were given to the Patil twins when they could have worn some stunning lehengas, and everyone collectively sniggered at poor Ginny's awful dress choice. These characters deserved better.
The Old Platform Nine-And-Three-Quarters
Having fun with the series is one of the best parts of being in the fandom, and references like running into the platform wall to reach platform nine-and-three-quarters always make fans crack up.
Inside jokes between Potterheads are a must, and so is calling people out to be muggles (especially if they crack a skull on the wall.) Fans, well, love spreading the word of their beloved story far and wide.
The Rewatchers
Marathons and rewatch parties are a part of any HP fan's life, especially during dry periods like the present when there is little new content. However, these marathons are not a chore, but enjoyed by Potterheads, but the different tone of the films makes it an emotional rollercoaster.
The first three movies were extremely bright and cheery, with themes that were a lot lighter. From the fourth movie onwards, the subject matter got heavy, the aesthetic became darker and stakes were higher. Watching Sorcerer's Stone right after watching Deathly Hallows: Parts I and II can be quite a shock to the senses!
All The Deaths
The reason why the latter movies became so serious and dark was because of the increasing amount of death that made its way into the stories. Favorites like Sirius Black, Cedric Diggory, Fred Weasley, and Remus Lupin were killed off by the author, and fans are still upset over many of these.
Harry was left with no family, after discovering someone resembling family in a short period of time, and beloved characters like Dobby were done away with for no good reason. They are mourned till today.
Finding Connections
Looking for connections to the wizarding world while living in a truly muggle society is a specialty of Potterheads, who can find a wizarding equivalent for anything around them.
Camo prints become an invisibility cloak, the Windows logo becomes a Hogwarts house crest, and anyone who doesn't understand becomes a muggle.
