Within the wizarding world of Harry Potter, there is no magical school that can ever hold a candle to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, at least in terms of popularity of course. And when it comes to Hogwarts, no Hogwarts house can hold a candle to the popularity of Gryffindor.

It comes as no surprise that since the three main characters of the series are all in Gryffindor, the house of the lion gets more attention and fan support than all of the other Hogwarts houses combined. When kids sign up for Pottermore and take their sorting hat quiz, nine times out of ten they're hoping that they'll wind up in Gryffindor, and there's a reason that at least half of the Harry Potter merch on the planet is Gryffindor themed. But being the most high profile house means that it gets the most attention in every way, including the memes. And here are 10 of Gryffindor's funniest memes on the web.

This Shouldn't Be A Place Of Judgement

We're honestly feeling so attacked right now. There is nothing wrong with showing some Gryffindor pride well into your adult years. And hey, anyone who judges like this kind of ratted themselves out, didn't they? Because yes, there is an adult wearing a Gryffindor scarf out in public, but they're recognizing that an adult is wearing a Gryffindor scarf out in public too.

Finally, maroon and gold just go well together, okay? There's nothing wrong with a pop of color that just happens to coordinate with the house colors of Godric Gryffindor.

Well That's A Plot Twist

Who knew Draco Malfoy had the heart of a Gryffindor all along! Tom Felton may have played the most memorable and irritating Slytherin student of all time, but I guess the fact that he really belonged in the house of the lion demonstrates what a good actor he really is.

But who knows, Draco being in Gryffindor may have made for an even more interesting rivalry. It was Draco's presence and obvious bad attitude that made it clear that Slytherin was the house of the villain, but why couldn't have Harry's biggest hater in the school been in the same house as he was?

Maybe He Shouldn't Be Headmaster Then

Dumbledore is far from the only professor at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry who shows favoritism to a particular house but as the headmaster of the school maybe he could cool it on his constant fangirling over Gryffindor. And not to make this a full-on Albus Dumbledore call out post, but it's not just his constant rewarding of Gryffindor that's a problem.

Dumbledore also has a serious habit of commending students in house Gryffindor for doing things that are crazy, dangerous, or something they should generally not be doing. And they're already wild enough, they don't need the extra motivation to get wilder!

They're Always The Stars, In Their Own Head

Students in house Gryffindor are absolutely natural go-getters who like to be the first ones to be doing anything, however, they are a little self-centered because of it.

Just because they always want to be the boss or leader that doesn't mean that they actually are, or that they even should be. It doesn't hurt to play second fiddle every once in a while, but if Gryffindors need to constantly delude themselves into believing that they're always the main star of their own magic show then I guess there's no harm in letting them dream their self-obsessed dreams.

Savage, Albus

Professor Dumbledore is undeniably one of the most talented and genius wizards who ever lived, but that doesn't mean that he shouldn't listen to some outside input every once in a while. Snape isn't wrong, Gryffindor can't just win the house cup every year just because they're Dumbledore's faves.

Perhaps Albus would be more open to hearing this constructive criticism if it wasn't coming from Snape though. I mean what he's saying is right, but the only professor at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry who shows even more favoritism to a particular house than Dumbledore does is Professor Snape.

He Really Doesn't

As we just said, Snape shows more favoritism towards house Slytherin than pretty much every other professor at Hogwarts. But Professor Snape is also a unique case at Hogwarts in the sense that he not only shows favor to Slytherin, but he shows a lot of extreme disfavor to house Gryffindor.

Maybe in retrospect, someone could try to rationalize it as Severus trying to really, really sell that he was always team death eater and never team Harry Potter, but still. Gryffindor gets more than enough accolades from other professors to make up for it, but Snape's hatred for Gryffindor seems to be something he literally took to the grave.

The Dream Of Dreams

The glory that is being sorted into house Gryffindor is more than a little overblown, but let's be real, even the former vice president of the United States Joe Biden would be hyped to receive the honor of being chosen for the home of the brave and lion-hearted.

It's fair to assume that Joe Biden never had to worry about being sorted into house Slytherin though. It's not that he's not qualified, but his personality and individual qualities make it seem like he'd be a better match for literally every other house in Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry besides Slytherin.

Gryffindor Getting The Pints In

Legend has it that when Emma Watson attended Brown University that students would occasionally call out ten points for Gryffindor, however, this would have been a much wittier and more appropriate joke to make. If there was ever a Hogwarts house that would know how to party hard, it undoubtedly was Gryffindor.

Also, no one on earth could truly believe that a whole pack of high school-aged kids at a liberal magical boarding school didn't see that Hogwarts house cup and think hey, why don't we turn that into a giant trough for alcohol. Apparently, Harry Potter just didn't care about being inconspicuous with it.

It's Surprising That Hogwarts Doesn't Charge A Cleanup Fee

Honestly, hindsight is always 20/20, but isn't it kind of heartbreaking to realize the amount of crap that so many house-elves undoubtedly had to deal with on account of the golden trio going totally buck-wild and trashing Hogwarts at least once every single year?

One of Hermione's greatest passion projects was freeing house elves from slavery, which is definitely an incredibly honorable and decent thing to be doing. However, in retrospect, she probably would have done more to help house-elves if she, Harry, and Ron had just paid a little more mind to not crashing cars into school and blowing things up every other day.

Everyone Knows It's Coming

Obviously, Dumbledore loves to pull moves like this for dramatic effect, but can you imagine being in the house that's winning right up until the headmaster decides to dole out an extra 400 points to Gryffindor because everyone brushed their teeth or something? And not to put too fine a point on it, but does Dumbledore ever actually have any extra points to give out to any Hogwarts house besides Gryffindor?

The whole Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry house cup competition seems woefully undemocratic, and Dumbledore should really use his whole power trip to do something other than giving Gryffindor accolades for the hundredth time.
