Academy Award winning actress, Helen Mirren, reveals the reason why she sorts herself into the Harry Potter Slytherin House at Hogwarts. The actress, best known for playing Queen Elizabeth II in The Queen, was recently named the 57th recipient of the SAG Life Achievement Award, which will be presented at the 28th Annual SAG Awards show in February. Mirren is also poised to host TBS and Cartoon Network's upcoming Harry Potter-themed Hogwarts Tournament of Houses game show that is set to kick off on November 28.

Celebrating the 20th anniversary of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, the upcoming game show will feature numerous trivia questions and special guest surprises. Teams of three contestants from each Hogwarts house (Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, and Slytherin) will compete for the inaugural Hogwarts Tournament of Houses trophy, as well as other Harry Potter-themed prizes, such as a once-in-a-lifetime trip to Wizarding World locations across the East Coast. During the Harry Potter game show, each team will represent their chosen Hogwarts house by wearing knitted sweaters matched to their house's iconic color scheme. As to which house Mirren would join, fans now know the answer.

People reports that Mirren recently sorted herself into the Harry Potter Slytherin House at Hogwarts. The actress told the magazine that she chose that house because "there's a punkishness about Slytherin that appeals to [her]." The 76-year-old actress went on to explain that she envisions House Slytherin as "the bad boys on the motorbikes kind of thing."

In the Wizarding World universe, House Slytherin is home to a number of dark wizards and witches, including Draco Malfoy (Tom Felton), Bellatrix Lestrange (Helena Bonham Carter), and the Dark Lord himself, Lord Voldemort (Ralph Fiennes). While Mirren was not a part of the Harry Potter film franchise, she was genuinely surprised by competitors' knowledge of the source material. Mirren explained that she had no idea of the "profound and widespread" engagement the stories had "all across the world, all across races, across genders, across ages." During her time hosting the game show, the actress found the love and passion fans had for the franchise "a very beautiful story."

While most Harry Potter fans would not be so quick to identify with House Slytherin, it appears Mirren is all about the "bad boy" nature of the Hogwarts house. Still, whether fans identify with that house or any of the other three, they can look forward to cheering on their favorite team during the Hogwarts Tournament of HousesFans can take their passion one step further by competing in the Wizarding World Quiz Championship on WizardingWorld.com during the game show.
