In Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, Harry and his friends are only eleven years old. This means that this book and the corresponding movie have more of a light feel overall, even though Harry still deals with heavy things.

When Harry, Ron, and Hermione, run into Fluffy guarding the room in the Third Floor Corridor, Hermione says how this could have gotten them all killed, or much worse, expelled. This prompts Ron to reply with this hilarious response.

In the movies, Seamus Finnigan, classmate and fellow Gryffindor to Harry and Ron, is often seen blowing things up. This is a movie addition that doesn’t happen in the books.

Seamus is always blowing things up, whether it be in Charms class or Potions. This recurring theme in the movies is a funny one and helps this character stand out from the many other Hogwarts students shown on screen.

This is another moment from Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone that occurs between Hermione and Ron. Hermione at this point is still not friends with Harry and Ron and is definitely not good at interacting with other students.

She corrects Ron on the correct pronunciation of the spell, much to his annoyance. This is a hilarious moment that highlights many of the interactions and dynamics between these two characters.

In Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, Harry and his fellow students are introduced to arguably the best Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher they ever have. Professor Lupin is intelligent and cares about his students, and he lets them encounter a boggart during one of their lessons.

This prompts some hilarious moments including a spider on roller skates, and, the most iconic, Professor Snape wearing the clothes of Neville’s grandmother. Her clothes are so over the top and old lady-like that it is a contrast to uptight Snape.

Fred and George are the biggest jokesters in both the books and the movies. It’s hard to narrow their funniest moments down to just one or two, as they definitely provide a lot of comic relief in the series.

However, as far as the movies go, one of the funniest times is when they try to trick the Goblet of Fire so they can put their names in. This prompts them to be ejected from the circle and to grow beards and look like old versions of themselves.

Poor Ron has to put up with a lot in the series when it comes to feeling like second fiddle to Harry Potter. During the Yule Ball, Harry, Hermione, and many of the other students look sharp in their dress robes and outfits.

However, Ron is sent secondhand dress robes by his mother that looks garish and like something a grandmother might wear. His reaction to seeing the dress robes is a hilarious one, even if it was easy to feel bad for Ron at the same time.

When it comes to romance, it’s very apparent that Harry Potter and his friends are still naive. They are all teenagers and still figuring all of this stuff out.

During a conversation with Ron, Harry remarks that Ginny has nice skin. This is a pretty funny thing to say when asked about why he likes her. Overall, it’s clear he isn’t good at expressing how he feels about Ginny to Ron, which makes sense given it’s Ron's sister.

When Harry drinks the Felix Felicis in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, his personality tends to change a bit. He gets very confident and also pretty hilarious.

One of the best moments is when he is talking about Aragog to Hagrid. Hagrid says people don't understand big spiders, and Harry points out part of the reason is because of the big pincers they have. He then does a funny motion with his hands to imitate a spider's pincers. Since Harry is usually fairly subdued and not super humorous, this moment sticks out.

In Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1, Polyjuice Potion is used to turn many members of the Order of the Phoenix into Harry. This is done to help Harry leave Privet Drive safely with the idea being that the Death Eaters wouldn’t know which Harry is real.

This leads to a pretty funny scene when there are seven Harrys all in the room at the same time. Also, the other characters who are pretending to be Harry make some funny remarks about what it feels like to be in his body.

Maybe one of the funniest moments from the series that is in the movies goes to Dobby. In Deathly Hallows Part 1, Dobby says this line when at the Malfoy Manor. It’s clear that Dobby is not a murderer, but he is devoted to the cause of good and to helping Harry and his friends.

Dobby says this line with such fierceness, and, while a funny moment, it also shows how endearing he can be. This is definitely a moment that had many fans laughing when they first saw and heard it.
