UPDATE: By request of the studio we've removed the clip from the DVD. While the trailer below is fan-made, a new (and official) trailer will be debuting online very soon.
If you're one of the (literally) millions of Harry Potter fans out there, chances are you're anticipating this summer's Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 with a mixture of wild excitement and more than a touch of sorrow, since it is the last in the series.
Deathly Hallows: Part 1 hit Blu-ray and DVD last week, and that release included one of the opening scenes from Part 2 as well. Now the sequence in question has made its way online, along with some cool (if familiar) teaser footage from the boy wizard's climactic showdown with Lord Voldemort (Ralph Fiennes). Before that, however, we have a new fan-made trailer for the film to share as well (a new, official trailer will be debuting within a few days).
To refresh your memory: Deathly Hallows: Part 1 concluded with Voldemort breaking into the tomb of Albus Dumbledore (Michael Gambon) and stealing his wand - the Elder Wand, a legendary weapon that is one of the three Deathly Hallows that Xenophilius Lovegood (Rhys Ifans) told Harry (Daniel Radcliffe), Ron (Rupert Grint), and Hermione (Emma Watson) about.
This fan trailer shows off much of the epic action that ensues as Harry and Co. renew their search for the deathly hallows and the means to destroy the horcruxes, talismans that contains shards of Voldemort's splintered soul, granting the evil wizard immortality. The search ultimately leads Harry back to Hogwarts, where the final battle between good and evil unfolds in epic fashion.
Have a look at this fan-made Deathly Hallows: Part 2 teaser trailer below:
The second half of Deathly Hallows opens with Harry and co. seeking temporary refuge at newly-married couple Bill (Domhnall Gleeson) and Fleur (Clémence Poésy) Weasley's seaside cottage. There the trio talk with Mr. Ollivander (John Hurt) about what information he gave Voldemort while he was held prisoner - and learn more about the actual Hallows (and yes book fans, I do know this scene plays out differently in the novel).
Watch that scene, along with more teaser footage from Deathly Hallows: Part 2 below:
FOOTAGE REMOVED BY REQUEST OF WARNER BROS.
This footage in the fan trailer and the clip provides an appropriately ominous and foreboding teaser for the dark and epic scope of the eighth and last Harry Potter film. Not to mention the fact that it also includes some nice bits of explosive action and fantastical scenery that'll be featured in the thrilling finale. Fans who walked away from Death Hallows: Part 1 feeling a bit let down after seeing only half a story should get some closure (and a whole lot more) from the second movie.
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 arrives in theaters this summer on July 15th.
