If there's one thing that can be said for the Harry Potter franchise, both the books and the films, it's that they certainly don't lack imagination. The world of Harry Potter is detailed and rich, worth discovering no matter how old a person is. The main heroes might be young but the beauty of Hogwarts and other places of the world can capture even the imagination of the adults.
And no one should also forget the magical spells and charms that play a highly important role in the series. After all, no magic can do without spells. Some of them are more practical, some less, but it's difficult to overlook that people born in the sign of Leo would master some spells, but fail at others.
Would Master: Cheering Charm
If someone read the Harry Potter series a long time ago, they might forget that there's a Cheering Charm in the first place since it's only been mentioned rarely. But it's the ideal spell for Leos who is the life and soul of every party.
As its name suggests, the Cheering Charm can make the person happy, or they can use it on somebody else. This would make Leos even more popular in a crowd and would fit well with the optimistic personalities.
Would Fail: The Cruciatus Curse
The Cruciatus curse, also known as Crucio, is one of the unforgivable curses. Voldemort uses it to torture Harry and many evil wizards have used it for similar purposes before him.
The spell is certainly effective at stopping one's enemies but torturing others and bringing them immense pain is something Leos don't have in their nature thanks to their kind-hearted, albeit sometimes egoistic, characters.
Would Master: Fiendfyre
Leo is a fiery and lively Zodiac sign. People born in this sign tend to be bigger than life, and this spell which also draws a lot of attention to itself would be a great match for their bold personalities.
Unsurprisingly, the spell creates fire. But not just any - enchanted flames that have the ability to destroy everything in their path. The flames take on the form of powerful magical creatures, so it's easy to imagine that it could also manifest as a lion.
Would Fail: The Blending In Spell
Sometimes the key to success is not to draw too much attention to themselves. This spell can help with it. Called the disillusionment charm, it allows the wizard to blend in with their surroundings.
While they don't become entirely invisible, it's as close as they can get without an actual invisibility cloak which is fairly rare. Leos would no doubt detest the spell since they bask in the attention of others and don't want to hide away from the world - quite the opposite, in fact.
Would Master: Cushioning Charm
Playing quidditch seems like the best hobby in the world but it's not all perfect. For one, sitting on the broomstick for a long period of time can easily turn uncomfortable. Luckily, there's a cushioning spell - called Molliare - for that.
A wizard can use it to sit more comfortably or to create a cushion if they fell off their brooms. And since Leos enjoy to be comfortable, they would pay great attention to mastering this particular spell.
Would Fail: The Reducing Spell
Reducing things to a smaller size doesn't really have that much use in everyday life - unless the wizard happens to be traveling a lot and needs to be able to pack their things into a small suitcase.
But considering they can transport from one location to another, even then it seems like overkill. Either way, Leos like their property big and attention-drawing, so reducing the size of the things they own won't most likely work for them.
Would Master: Hair Changing Spell
Yes, Nymphadora Tonks could easily do it by herself thanks to her natural talent, but even those who don't possess the same skill can still change their hair color and hairstyle.
It might seem trivial but when somebody needs a change and is in a hurry, it's a certainly quicker way how to alter their hair than do it the traditional way. Leos would enjoy it since they pay a lot of attention to their appearance and they would have fun creating various wild combinations.
Would Fail: The Shielding Spell
This spell works well if two or more people are in a larger crowd but they want to lead a private conversation. They simply use the spell - Muffliato - and end up shielded from the rest of the world that can't hear what they're saying.
The reason why it might not work for Leos is that people born in this sign like to draw attention to themselves, be the heart of the company, so shielding themselves is the opposite of what they would like to do.
Would Master: Stairs Spell
Remember how the stairs in Hogwarts randomly switched its location and shape from time to time? Well, this spell called Glisseo also has a similar effect - it changes stairs into a slide.
It's not a very practical spell, to put it mildly, but sounds like a lot of fun when someone is having a party so the fun-loving Leos could use the spell to impress their friends and have a laugh.
Would Fail: Avada Kedavra
That's not to say that Leos couldn't learn Avada Kedavra. But most of them would be most likely reluctant to use it, so even if they cast the spell, it might not work properly. Leos are generally people with good intentions who enjoy the company of others and have a respect for human lives.
So taking another person's life could prove a bit too much for them, at least if it wasn't a question of life and death or a situation in which they would have to use the spell to protect their loved ones.
