Bravery is one of the most prominent aspects of Harry Potter, permeating through the story's central characters and giving way to some truly incredible scenes in the movies. Undoubtedly the films that see the characters act the bravest are the two parts of The Deathly Hallows, and alongside often inspiring actions, many have great quotes to highlight their courage.

Some of the most memorable Deathly Hallows quotes are some of the bravest quotes in the saga, coming from characters risking their lives or making sacrifices, or simply displaying immense guts and heart.

Professor McGonagall's Rally

"And His Name Is Voldemort, Filius, You Might Want To Start Using It. He's Going To Try To Kill You Either Way."

Professor McGonagall rallies Hogwarts' protectors in The Deathly Hallows

In only a few scenes, Minerva McGonagall managed to be a highlight of The Deathly Hallows, with the Hogwarts Professor showing immense bravery in the fight against Voldemort and his forces.

Of course, her protecting Harry and facing Snape was incredibly courageous. But in terms of quotes, this line, coupled with her rallying the protectors of Hogwarts, is her bravest in the film. She shows no fear in calling Voldemort by his name nor in the prospect of his troops trying to kill her, her colleagues, and friends.

Molly Weasley's Motherly Instincts

"That's My Daughter, You B**ch!"

Molly Weasley fights and kills Bellatrix LeStrange in The Deathly Hallows

Bellatrix Lestrange is perhaps the most unhinged villain in the Potter films, which makes it all the more admirable when Molly Weasley takes her on one-on-one.

It was bravery that came from her instincts as a mother, nobody would be safe from Molly if they attacked her children, and her killing Bellatrix, coupled with this quote, is one of the Battle of Hogwarts' many highlights.

Harry Returns To Godric Hollow

"No. This Is My Home. I'm Not Returning As Someone Else."

Hermione rests her head on Harry's shoulder in the snow

Harry's return to Godric's Hollow with Hermione was an emotional affair for the characters and audiences. It came at a time of desperation and almost hopelessness, with Ron gone and Horcruxes alluding the pair.

Harry's refusal to return to his and his parent's home is admirable. It was undoubtedly dangerous with the whole Wizarding World knowing who he was and all of Voldemort's forces looking for him. On another level, though, returning at all was brave. It was hardly a sure thing that they would get any needed information there, and seeing his parent's grave would not have eased Harry's troubles.

Dobby's Proud Declaration

"Dobby Has No Master. Dobby Is A Free Elf, And Dobby Has Come To Save Harry Potter And His Friends."

Dobby's death at the end of the first part of The Deathly Hallows is one of the saga's saddest moments, but, in typical Potter fashion, came after an act of true bravery as Dobby rescued Harry and his friends from Malfoy Manor.

This line was spoken to Bellatrix of all people and showcased Dobby's defiance in the faces of his old, cruel masters. When it came to helping and protecting his friends, Dobby, like the Golden Trio, was fearless and would back down from nobody.

Narcissa Malfoy's Lie

"Dead."

Not many people in the Wizarding World could lie to Voldemort's face and live to tell the tale. Narcissa Malfoy is one such unique individual.

The bravery here not only comes from lying but the magnitude of the lie. Had she told the truth, Harry may have simply died again. Her lie put her life in danger and protected Harry's, even if she did not do so with Harry in mind, but rather Narcissa's family.

Ron Returns

"I Knew It Was Going To Take Me Where I Needed To Go."

Ron destroys the locket in Harry Potter Deathly Hallows Part 1

A significant part of The Deathly Hallows sees Ron leave his friends behind and abandon the search for the Horcruxes, only to return, save Harry's life, and destroy the locket once and for all. His return was an underrated act of bravery and a magical scene in the Harry Potter film.

This line is taken from his speech to Hermione, where he explains where he had been. Ron had been on the run from Snatchers desperately trying to find a route back to his friends; he had not abandoned them truly. Still, he was out alone, with his life in grave danger. On top of that, he overcame his own fears of being second best when he eventually did so.

Hermione Erases Her Parent's Memories

"Obliviate."

One of the saddest moments in The Deathly Hallows comes right at the start when, prior to her leaving with Harry and Ron to find the Horcruxes, Hermione erases her parent's memories.

This is a heartbreaking and valiant moment from Hermione. She was prepared to give up her family for the fight ahead. For a time, her own parent's whom she adored, had no idea who she was. Not many people would have the strength to go through with that spell.

Snape Sums Up The Reasons For His Bravery In A Word

"Always."

Snape tells Dumbledore he will always love Lily in Harry Potter.

"Always" may well be the most iconic and saddest line in all of Harry Potter, and no matter the divisive opinions on Snape, the quote is a great summary of his deep-rooted bravery.

For Lily, for the woman he seemed to love, Snape put his life in indescribable danger by acting as a double-agent against Voldemort. He kills Dumbledore, whom he adored, and had to watch Harry grow up, knowing he would have to die. The line itself is not a brave one, but it sums up so many of Snape's, arguably, heroic acts and gives reason for them.

Neville's Message From The Heart

"They Didn't Die In Vain, But You Will! Cause You're Wrong! Harry's Heart Did Beat For Us, For All Of Us! It's Not Over!"

Neville Longbottom gives a speech to Voldemort Deathly Hallows 7.2

Neville is one of the franchise's most popular characters, adored by many fans who think he should have been the Chosen One. Neville always had such a heart, which gets best portrayed in The Deathly Hallows.

As shown in this line and his whole inspirational speech, Neville was not prepared to give up fighting Voldemort just because Harry was dead. Even though Harry was, obviously, alive and able to continue the fight, people would have rallied around Neville, whose bravery in the face of pure evil was phenomenal.

Harry Prepares To Make The Ultimate Sacrifice

"I'm Ready To Die."

Harry Potter with Golden Snitch in Deathly Hallows

Harry Potter exemplifies a lot of the qualities of Gryffindor House, not least of all bravery. His acceptance of his death in the Forbidden Forest is arguably the bravest single act in any Potter film.

The entire sequence of Harry approaching the Forest, speaking with his guardians, and getting murdered by Voldemort is harrowing. His resurrection does not take away from how wholeheartedly courageous Harry was in giving up his life in the first place. As shown in his conversation with his guardians, Harry was scared, but he went through with it, knowing it was the right thing to do.
