Emma Watson has recently been in the news for her appearances at couture shows across Paris, but the actress will always be known, first and foremost, for her legendary role in Harry Potter. Her portrayal of Hermione taught generations of little girls that being the cleverest person in the room was just fine, and the inspirational character broke most tropes about female sidekicks.

A whip-smart, talented, and loyal friend, Hermione was one of the finest witches of her time. Her intelligence was second to none, but she was a truly unique and gifted witch, without whom the Golden Trio might not have survived as many ordeals as they did. These memes show off her distinctive and special personality.

The First To Raise Her Hand

The Muggle-born witch was the brightest in her batch, and this was obvious from the first interaction that she had with Ron and Harry. She further proved how intelligent she was in class, where she would be the first to raise her hand when a professor asked a question.

Unsurprisingly, Hermione was always right, and she probably singlehandedly got Gryffindor the most points academically in her year. When one thinks of her, the first image is of a girl flailing her arm in the air, bursting to give an answer.

The Emotional Range Of A Teaspoon

Some of the best quotes in Harry Potter were courtesy of Hermione Granger, and her retort to Ron about not understanding human emotion is her most memorable one. As she explained to Ron and Harry how Cho must have felt after Cedric's death and falling for Harry, the boys wondered how one could feel so much.

This led to one of the best movie moments between the main three as they laughed over Hermione's hilarious quote about Ron's boyish inability to process emotions.

Hermione's Polyjuice Gaffe

It was rare to see Hermione mess up, but her plan to disguise the three as Slytherins to get into their common room backfired pretty badly, but only on her. Instead of picking Millicent Bulstrode's own hair, she picked up her cat's fur, which led to her becoming a weird feline humanoid for a short while.

This meme format fits almost too perfectly into the mishap that happened with the witch, as she became a helpless cat being tended to by Madam Pomfrey in the hospital wing.

Do Not Disturb

Ron and Hermione bickered a lot since they were 11 and Hermione's withering glares were especially feared by both him and Harry. These looks were shot at offenders who disturbed her reading, mostly, because nothing could and should come between the witch and her books.

Amongst her many other traits, this stayed consistent from the first to last installment of Harry Potter, and Ron was perhaps even subjected to this expression after they got married, too.

The Yule Ball Glow-Up

The romantic tension between Ron and Hermione came to a head when he saw her at the Yule Ball. What blew his mind was that she hadn't arrived date-less and hurt — she looked breathtaking and had the most desired student, Viktor Krum, escorting her to the ball.

Ron couldn't process that Hermione had other prospects apart from him, and Viktor was a perfect gentleman who treated Hermione with respect and kindness. She had very much attended the Ball with Viktor, but to Ron, it seemed like she had betrayed him.

Hermione Vs. Draco

Standing up to bullies and injustice was a quality that Hermione was well-known for, and after years of being the bigger person with the menace that was Draco Malfoy, she finally gave in to her basest instincts and punched him across the face.

This moment is an unforgettable one, and definitely one of the best things that Hermione ever did. Draco had to be shown his place for using slurs and insults on unsuspecting people, and she gave him a dose of his own medicine.

Killed, Or Worse, Expelled!

Few things held more value than schooling and education for Hermione, who placed the power of knowledge above all else. Young Hermione was so intent on staying in Hogwarts and following the rules, that she considered being expelled worse than death itself.

Her priorities changed a bit as she grew up because first-year Hermione would never skip a school year to hunt for Horcruxes with her most wanted best friends.

Hermione Was The 99%

While all three characters were unique and useful in their own ways, Hermione undoubtedly formed the foundation of the Trio. She was the brains behind their operations and even helped them survive daily school life.

Ron and Harry needed Hermione to keep it together for them, whereas Hermione could have survived alone if she had to. She powered the group in every way possible, and the other two were lucky to have her around.

The One Thing Out Of Her Grasp

There was very little that Hermione couldn't master, especially academically, but hand-eye coordination and sports were not her strength. This was evident in the first flying lesson that the first years took, where Harry wielded his broomstick expertly, but Hermione couldn't make it fly "up!"

It would have been easy for Harry to correct her the same way she teased others during Charms class, but to his credit, he kept quiet about Hermione's one deficiency.

Hermione Time-Turns

In true Hermione fashion, she got granted the most potent power of time travel, and all she really did with it was attend more classes. This was probably why McGonagall trusted the teenage witch with an object so powerful because she knew that it would be used only in academic pursuits.

Many fans have speculated that she could have saved many lives, or even used it for personal gain, but she followed the rules to the tee, which is what made her so distinctly Hermione.
