When Harry Potter first premiered in 2001, no one would have believed that the films would take over the entertainment world the way it did. The Harry Potter franchise and books became cult classics and topped the best-sellers list for months. Three young actors would become film stars overnight. Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint would embody the beloved characters of the wizarding world on screen.

The film franchise would also star familiar actors who were already famous like Alan Rickman, Maggie Smith, and Ralph Fiennes. The films cast would be loved by thousands of fans and have since continued their careers as actors. Netflix has a number of films starring the main cast to keep the Harry Potter party going.

The King (2019)

Despite actor Robert Pattinson playing a very minor role in the film Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, fans to a great liking to him. He played the role of Cedric Diggory of Hufflepuff who was chosen by the Goblet of Fire to take part in the Triwizard Tournament.

You would also remember Pattinson for playing Edward Cullen in the popular teen vampire franchise films, Twilight (2008). In 2019, Pattinson played the role of The Dauphin in the Netflix film, The King. The film follows the story of Henry (Timotheé Chalamet) Prince of Wales as he is crowned King. He must decide his reign amongst those who seek to destroy him.

The Duchess (2008)

The 2008 film, The Duchess stars the actor Ralph Fiennes who played the notorious villain who shall not be named, Voldemort. Fiennes played William Cavendish, 5th Duke of Devonshire. Georgiana (Kiera Knightley) is to marry William hoping to produce a male heir. She is perplexed when a motherless child named Charlotte (Camilla Arwedson) comes to live with them.

The child proves to be Wiliams illegitimate child. Georgina gives birth to a girl and William feels she has failed in her duties as a wife. Georgiana befriends Lady Bess Foster (Hayley Atwell) and invites her to live at her home. Soon after, Bess has an affair with William. William becomes outraged when Georginia begins an affair with Charles Grey (Dominic Cooper). This is only the beginning of Georgiana's problems.

Hook (1991)

Actress Maggie Smith played a minor role in the classic live-action adaptation of the Peter Pan film Hook in 1991. Many adults would remember watching this film as a child starring Robin Williams as a grown-up Peter Pan. In the film, Smith played the role of Granny Wendy. Peter Banning (Williams) is a corporate lawyer in San Francisco who has left behind his old ways in Neverland.

He has become a workaholic and has a strained relationship with his family. When his children are kidnapped by Captain Hook (Dustin Hoffman), Peter must return to Neverland and regain his imagination in order to save his family.

GoldenEye (1995)

Harry Potter fans fell in love with Harry Potter's close friend and protector, Hagrid. Hagrid was played by actor Robbie Coltrane. He also had a small role in the 1995 James Bond film, GoldenEye. Coltrane played the minor role of Valentin Dmitrovich Zukovsky, a Russian gangster and ex-KGB officer who helps Bond.

In true James Bond style, the film's storyline is centered around Bond (Pierce Brosnan) trying to prevent an ex-MI6 agent from using a nuclear electromagnetic pulse space-based weapon. The weapon's codename is "GoldenEye." Time is of the essence as Bond has to thwart the rogue ex-MI6 agent's plan.

The Flash (2014)

In 2o15, the CW debuted their new superhero show The Flash. Audiences follow the story of Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) when he struck by lightning, which by the explosion of a particle accelerator at S.T.A.R. Labs in Central City. He gains the ability of super speed and becomes The Flash.

In season three of the show, a new main character is introduced. Tom Felton, who played Draco Malfoy in the Harry Potter franchise films, played the role of Julian Albert. Julian Albert became Barry Allen's new CSI partner at the police department. Julian makes it known his dislike towards Barry and starts to wonder about his other identity. As the season progresses, it is revealed that Julian is more of a threat than expected.

Actor Alan Rickman played the beloved character Professor Snape in the Harry Potter franchise. Despite his character being a supposed villain, he proves his loyalty to Harry Potter (Radcliffe) because of his love for Lily Potter (Ellie Darcey-Alden). Rickman has been in various films throughout his career and he played a main role in one of Tim Burton's films, Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber Of Fleet Street.

Benjamin Barker (Johnny Depp) is a talented barber who is falsely accused and exiled by Judge Turpin (Rickman). Turpin lusted after Barker's wife and concocted a plan to keep her to himself. Years later, Barker returns under the alias "Sweeney Todd". Barker seeks blood and revenge against Turpin.

Colonia / The Colony (2015)

Playing one of the three main roles in the Harry Potter franchise was actress Emma Watson as the smart and cunning Hermione Granger. Watson went on to have a known film career playing roles in the films Noah (2014), The Circle (2017), and she played Belle in the Disney live-action film Beauty and the Beast (2017).

The Colony is based in 1973 during the Chilean dictatorship under General Pinochet after the coup d'etat of President Salvador Allende. A German couple, Daniel (Daniel Brühl) and Lena (Watson) find themselves in the crosshairs of a military roundup. Daniel is taken by the secret DINA police. In efforts to save him, Lena joins the "Colonia Dignidad" which are hiding much more behind the mask of a charitable mission.

Sick Note (2018)

Playing the role of Harry Potter's ginger-haired best friend is actor Rupert Grint as Ronald Weasley. Rupert Grint has since the film franchise's end taken on various film and television roles. His show Sick Note (2017) is available on Netflix, along with the film Moonwalkers (2015). In Sick Note, Grint plays the lead role of Daniel Glass.

The show is a British black comedy series that first aired in 2017. Daniel is diagnosed with terminal oesophageal cancer but later finds out it was a misdiagnosis. Realizing that everyone around him treats him better, he chooses to not tell the truth and takes advantage of the situation.

Swiss Army Man (2016)

Daniel Radcliffe rose to fame playing the lead role of Harry Potter in the film franchise. Harry Potter was the "boy who lived" after his parents were killed by Lord Voldemort and he was left with a lightning bolt scar on his forehead. After the films, Radcliffe went on to take part in multiple TV and film roles such as Miracle Workers (2019) and Swiss Army Man (2016).

In Swiss Army Man, Radcliffe played the role of Manny. The film's plot is hard to wrap your head around. The comedy-drama revolves around a man attempting suicide after being stranded on an island. He discovers Manny and develops a bond with him. He finds out he can manipulate the body like a Swiss Army knife.

Horns (2013)

Horns is another film project starring Radcliffe where the plotline leaves you perplexed. Radcliffe played the main character Ignatius "Ig" Perrish. Ig is the prime suspect in the rape and murder of his girlfriend. Despite pleading innocence, he becomes ostracized by his town. He wakes up one night with horns protruding from his forehead.

He develops supernatural abilities as the horns allow him to compel individuals into telling him their deepest secrets. With his new abilities, he tracks down the real killer, but becomes too enthralled with his new power.
