Harley Quinn producer Patrick Schumacker has hinted that season 3 of the animated series will premiere soon on HBO Max. Originally debuting on the DC Universe app, Harley Quinn followed the adventures of the titular character, voiced by Kaley Cuoco, as she attempted to break out on her own away from the Joker's shadow. Along the way, she gained new allies like Poison Ivy, Clayface, and King Shark and began to develop her own person and find her own path in the world of the DC Universe.

The series stood out for its sharp writing, dark and adult sense of humor, and the way it reimagined many classic DC characters. Harley Quinn ran for two seasons on DC Universe before it was announced that  Harley Quinn season 3 would move over to HBO Max, which has already stacked up talent like James Gunn and Sam Richardson to lend their voices to the upcoming season. Harley Quinn aired the final episode of season 2 on June 26, 2020. With a nearly two-year gap between seasons 2 and 3, viewers are left to wonder when new content might arrive.

It appears that progress on the show is coming along and a possible premiere time frame has been hinted at for Harley Quinn season 3. Series producer and co-creator Patrick Schumacker recently said on Twitter that he could not give an exact release date, but that the show should premiere at a time in the year that rhymes with "schmummer," clearly indicating the series is aiming to air in the summer. No date has been officially set by Warner Bros. or HBO Max at the time of this writing. See the tweet below:

A summer time frame is vague, but looking at the HBO Max lineup may indicate when the series will air. Currently, Young Justice is airing on HBO Max, with the second half of season 4 premiering with three episodes on March 31. The season is set to run for 13 episodes with the finale set for June 9, 2022. Young Justice took a hiatus at the start of 2022 to allow Peacemaker to air as the flagship DC television show. So there's definitely a chance Harley Quinn could premiere shortly after Young Justice concludes in June, two years after season 2 wrapped.

Harley Quinn has become a very popular show since it premiered, and while no word on season 4 has officially been announced it is highly likely. A Kite-Man spin-off series is already in development at HBO Max, suggesting additional expansions of the universe are possible. While fans have been waiting for season 3 for two years now, it appears the wait will be over soon for the continued adventures of Harley Quinn and her crew.
