Poison Ivy Saves Harley From The Joker And Gives Her Immunity To Toxins

Poison Ivy hates all humans because they have hurt her and they have contaminated the world.  During her time in Arkham Asylum, she can't stand her psychiatrist, Harley Quinn, then known as Harleen Quinzel.  After Ivy unintentionally helps Harley in her attempt to break Joker out of the asylum, Harley leaves a flower for Ivy as a token of appreciation.

Ivy later returns the favor by saving Harley when Joker attempts to drops her in acid.  Not only that but by giving her an elixir to make her immune, Harley can now be close to Ivy without being poisoned.

They Shared A Kiss Wrapped In Ivy's Vines

Both flirty and Romantic moments between Harley and Ivy have been frequent ever since Harley's introduction in the 1992 DC animated Series Batmanepisode "Joker's Favor".  Throughout their intimate bonding and love affair, one monumental event stands out in Bombshell, the night that Harley proves her dedication to Ivy and they share an intimate kiss under a street lamp in the moonlight while Ivy's vines gently wrap around the two.

This is the first time Harley Quinn fears her long-time friend Ivy and after the offer to join is put on the table, Harley must decide if she will follow her voice of reason or join Ivy in her evil plot.

 There Is No Hope For Them

Although the 2019 Harley Quinn series has set the stage for Harley and Ivy's love to continue, there's no question that their relationship is ultimately doomed.  Ivy will always hold her nature and plants as her number one priority.  While Harley does give her a sense of human emotion and intimacy, Ivy carries poison in her heart against humans that is too deeply rooted to ignore.

Likewise,  Harley's unstable and erratic personality does not help in establishing a stable and steady condition.  The therapy of divulging their inner-most traumas and accepting each other is the love that binds them but ultimately their volatile sides always push through.
