Move over, BatCat, because Poison Ivy and Harley Quinn have just received the best couple name courtesy of one artist along with a very loving depiction of the pair.
For nearly as long as she's been around, Harley has been the closest confidante of Poison Ivy. Even when she was the romantic partner and sidekick of the Joker, Quinn had a special place in her heart for the green-thumbed villain. In turn, Ivy shed her usually misanthropic nature around Harley and found herself growing to care for her friend in ways she'd never felt with others. While the two were often portrayed as partners-in-crime, Ivy and Harley became partners in love after years of teasing a potential romance between the two. The relationship was eagerly embraced among the fandom who'd always hoped to see the pair take the plunge and explore their feelings for one another.
While Harley and Ivy may be sorting their feelings out in the comics, fans who ship the characters are continuing to show their support for the couple in some really amazing ways. Artist Jen Bartel came in with a timely rendering of the two on the second day of Pride Month and it has members of Team Ivy/Harley going nuts. On Twitter, Bartel posted a picture of a tablet that showed off a work featuring Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy. Harley has her arms wrapped around Ivy in a loving way as the two stand surrounded by a collection of pink flowers. To make the image even better, Bartel included the phrase "PoisonQuinn" with her work along with a few emojis to highlight the romantic nature of the picture.
It goes without saying that such a beautiful picture of Ivy and Harley was readily accepted among the fans of Twitter, who liked the post well into the thousands. Fans responded with resounding support for the work, happy to see the two portrayed as a loving couple. It's nice to see such wholesome art during Pride Month, especially since the two are currently taking a break. But the name "PoisonQuinn" is a fantastic couple name for Ivy and Harley and it really hammers home how eager fans are to see the two reconnect.
While recent years have shown Harley and Ivy in a more intimate manner than they ever have been, there's still a lot of room for them to grow as a couple. Their time apart may do both characters some good independently, but fans are eager to see them get back together and work towards building something that will last more than a few years. "PoisonQuinn" isn't just a cute shorthand name for Ivy and Quinn, it's an endorsement from fans who are 100% ready to have their relationship last as long as Superman and Lois Lane's or Apollo and Midnighter's. "PoisonQuinn" shippers may want to keep the exciting new name on their minds for when Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy eventually make their way back into one another's life.
