The death of Poison Ivy meant that Harley Quinn's world would be changing forever. But now that the goddess of the green has been reborn, it looks like both Harley Quinn & Poison Ivy will be starting fresh in their team-up comic series. Just... maybe not in the way fans expected.

Considering how close the two femme fatales have become in the modern DC Universe, a standalone miniseries for Harley Quinn & Poison Ivy seems like a no-brainer. Especially after Ivy was effectively regrown from a flower following her Heroes in Crisis death. Fans probably hoped things would return to normal soon, but our exclusive preview of Harley Quinn & Poison Ivy shows that a rebirth isn't easy, and it's never simple. But the last place Harley should look for help is Lex Luthor.

There's no need to worry that this reborn Ivy won't eventually return to the woman she used to be, despite these early struggles to regain her strength. It's still too early to tell if Harley Quinn's desire to return to outright supervillain should be taken as frustrated rambling, or an actual direction this miniseries will take. So for now, enjoy our exclusive preview of Harley Quinn & Poison Ivy #1 in the pages embedded below:

The fact that Ivy will be returning to her classic, iconic look and clothing will be good news for the purists, but there's no way that Lex Luthor's "gift" won't bring some strings or hidden details along with it. If his scheming has already caught Ivy in a trap, then it's a good thing she'll have Harley beside her, lest she become a villain when she loses control (which this preview, and the cover art suggests may be her challenge for this miniseries). They may still be a long way away from DC making their love story as explicit as it was in the Injustice world, where Harley and Ivy were married. But it's still hoped by many fans that Jody Houser will bring the depths of their relationship into DC Comics canon. The full issue arrives Wednesday, and interested readers can see the entire solicitation details, credits, and plot synopsis for the new series below:
