A nice surprise for DC fans arrived in the form of the Harley Quinn TV series, an animated show that embraces the character’s kookiness and places her in the role of anti-hero. This series has been met with critical acclaim, mostly due to the bold nature of the content.

While the Harley Quinn found in the DC Extended Universe remains the most popular version, this animated Harley can also boast of a dedicated fanbase. These fans have come up with certain memes to illustrate their enthusiasm for the show, and here are 10 of these that have been derived from the animated series.

Haters Be Warned

There’s no escaping internet trolls these days, especially due to social media enabling these guys to spread their hate speech. However, since Harley Quinn has previously displayed abilities to break the fourth wall, she might just be able to break through the internet.

What better way to do so than through the use of her trusty mallet? This weapon of choice has ended quite a few people over the years, and it just might be the weapon needed to scare the haters out once and for all.

Inevitable Pairing

Poison Ivy and Harley Quinn happen to be a couple in comics and other mediums, but they haven’t gotten this representation in general mainstream media. That hasn’t stopped fans from making their own fan fiction couples before, and it didn’t stop with the animated series as well.

With these two positioned as best buds on this show, it was only a matter of time before the “shipping” began. And fans didn’t disappoint either, as the fan fiction coupling had begun pretty much the first time Poison Ivy and Harley Quinn had a scene together.

You Know It

There’s a kind of obsession in comic book fans over the R-rating, with most arguing that this rating allows superhero movies and shows to really show their personality. While that claim might have had mixed results, there’s no question the animation does shine with the R-rating.

The Harley Quinn series has seen a more vibrant animation style to go with her characterization, which has allowed for character models to look real. Compared to the PG-13 animations, this series looks way better.

Where's Leonard When You Need Him?

In case you’re unaware of this little fact, it is Kaley Cuoco who voices Harley Quinn in the series. She’s, of course, the star of The Big Bang Theory, which ran for as many as twelve seasons before the show came to an end.

With that in mind, it’s hard to picture anyone other than Penny saying the words Harley does when things are put in this context, and it seems one fan has theorized that Harley really is Penny. One can just imagine the reaction Sheldon Cooper or Leonard Hofstader would have over this revelation.

What's A Villain To Do?

The nature of the series has been to carry a very campy tone, meaning even villains who are supposed to be vicious have been portrayed as loony guys. This has led to several hilarious moments, especially where one character has to play the straight man.

You’d think being a supervillain itself would be enough, but Poison Ivy here has bigger problems in that she’s the only “sane” villain. With guys like Bane, Two-Face, and Scarecrow behind her, Ivy might just be the sanest baddie in this picture.

Everybody Knows

We’ve gotten the critically acclaimed Birds of Prey and the animated series starring Harley Quinn, but nobody’s going to forget the dud that was Suicide Squad. The hate on that film is legendary, something that has found its way to this meme as well.

Here, we can see the animated Harley wear a Suicide Squad shirt, to which the creator of the meme has put in the context of Harley seemingly supporting the film. Too bad for her she just found out the movie is far from great.

That Sounds Familiar

Taylor Swift’s song, “Blank Space” has given a new context toward the crazy girl trope, where pretty characters can turn out to be completely unhinged. Where Harley’s concerned, these lyrics could not have been more appropriate.

After all, she’s considered to be one of the most attractive comic book characters ever, and this has brought significant appeal her way. However, everyone finds out soon enough that she’s the stuff of nightmares, and this picture from the animated series conveys that all too well.

Harley Hates Millennials

Young people these days just can’t be found without a phone in their hand, with these people even using them during conversation with others. While that’s begrudgingly accepted by most, Harley’s someone people really shouldn’t ignore in favor of your phone.

In this meme, she’s placed as something of a millennial hater, in that she’s seen smashing up TVs and phones all the livelong day. So, when Auntie Harley’s visiting, it's best not to be wasting time on gadgets should fans want to stay alive.

That Took A Turn

You’ll find a potential Batman and Harley Quinn romance in more than several fan-fictions out there, and this idea has been hinted heavily in recent years. In the animated series, Harley is seen at several points flirting with The Dark Knight.

If one wants to put a romantic spin on things, they could argue that these two are just going through the meet-cute phase, and that their feelings might just develop. Who knows, maybe Batman really is telling this story How I Met Your Mother style.

That Sounds About Right

Due to the cartoonish nature of the series, there are numerous pratfalls and shenanigans that end in explosive confrontations. To this end, Poison Ivy’s reaction here really does convey to fans what the theme of the first season was.

Pretty much every few minutes had a scene where some hard-hitting sequence took place, prompting more than a few to cringe in reaction. In case fans want to know what they're in for if they haven’t watched the show yet, then look no further than this meme.
