A recent tweet from the official Harley Quinn TV series' Twitter account played on the character's comedic personality and called out her fellow DC Comics characters, Batman and Peacemaker, for their daddy issues. The animated series has now become infamous for its constant fun-making of the wider DC Universe, spanning from the cinematic entries of the universe as well as storylines from the comics. The series premiered in November of 2019 and stars Kaley Cuoco in the leading role of the titular clown princess of crime.

Alongside Cuoco, the series also stars Lake Bell as Poison Ivy, Alan Tudyk as the Joker and Clayface, Tony Hale as Doctor Psycho, Ron Funches as King Shark, Jason Alexander as Sy Borgman, and J.B Smoove as Frank The Plant. Audiences follow as Harley suffers a large breakup from the Joker and works to find her place in the world as her own woman, and her own criminal, alongside a team of her fellow criminals. Harley Quinn was renewed for season 3 in September 2020, which has been confirmed to debut at some point in 2022.

In a post from the official Harley Quinn Twitter account, which is consistently under the guise of being run by Harley herself, the comedic criminal quote-tweeted a piece of fan art based on a direct shot from the show, that of Harley standing next to Batman. Shown side-by-side, the art portrayed the character instead standing next to Peacemaker, causing the tweet to mention Harley's favorite new hobby of standing next to these "self-absorbed men with crippling daddy issues." James Gunn, the creator of the Peacemaker series, even replied to the tweet, sharing his amusement from the joke, alongside many fans. View the tweet below:

While many of Harley Quinn's insane jokes about material within the DC Universe have been met with many laughs, there have been others that have been seen as slightly controversial. For instance, in June 2021, it was revealed by the show's creators that DC had previously turned down their proposed scene of Batman going down on Catwoman, for comedic purposes, stating that "Batman doesn't do that." This led to widespread ridicule from thousands on Twitter, even having director, Zack Snyder, purchase a piece of art that portrayed an accurate depiction of the scene, reinforcing the fact that Batman does, in fact, do that.

With the Harley Quinn account constantly staying in character and cracking jokes about even the more serious characters within the DC Universe, the tone of the animated series is always on full display for fans to enjoy and helps keep them excited for the series' inevitable return. Furthermore, this humor helps audiences take in and enjoy the overall universe much more by shedding new light on these characters, particularly a comedic one. Harley Quinn returns with her crude humor in the third season of the animated series in 2022.
