Alan Tudyk is reportedly voicing the Joker in DC Universe's upcoming animated Harley Quinn TV show. Not much is known regarding the series' narrative as of yet, but it's part of the original programming of the budding streaming platform. It is expected to tackle Harley's adventures as she tries to earn her spot in DC's premier supervillain group, Legion of Doom.
While the full star-studded voice cast for the show has been released, only Kaley Cuoco as the titular character, Lake Bell as Dr. Pamela Isley aka. Poison Ivy, Rahul Kohli as Dr. Jonathan Crane aka. Scarecrow and Diedrich Bader as Batman have confirmed parts. Roles for Giancarlo Esposito, J.B. Smoove, Natalie Morales, and Christopher Meloni among others have yet to be announced. However, if Bader's recent comment is to be believed, Tudyk's character may have just been revealed.

During a guesting stint at this week's Discussing Film's The Mutual Interview, Bader seemingly let it slip that the Rogue One: A Star Wars actor is playing Harley Quinn's version of the Clown Prince of Crime. While talking about his upcoming project, the actor said: "Alan Tudyk... is Joker and is hilarious. I just did a session with him a while ago and he was very funny as Joker." Considering Tudyk's extensive voice acting portfolio, fans have high hopes about his incarnation of the character. Some of his notable voice acting works include playing Alistair Krei in Disney's Big Hero 6 and Duke of Weselton in Disney's 2013 film Frozen, as well as numerous video game characters such as Green Arrow in Injustice: Gods Among Us and Injustice 2.
That said, Tudyk has some big shoes to fill playing the new version of the Joker as he's following the footsteps of Mark Hamill in bringing the character to life through voice acting. It has been more than two decades after Hamill debuted in the role in Batman: Mask of the Phantasm (replacing Tim Curry), reprising the character countless times, the latest one just two years ago in Batman: The Killing Joke. Despite his work being cut out for him, it sounds like Tudyk is making the character his own judging on Bader's recent comments. Aside from Harley Quinn, Tudyk is also set to star in the live-action Doom Patrol TV series where he will play Mr. Nobody.
Earlier this month DC released a full preview for Harley Quinn but considering that the trailer was focused on the titular character, other expected key players weren't prominently featured. The clip, however, made it clear that the series will be geared towards a more adult demographics similar to the already streaming Titans. Like what Bader said during his latest guesting, there's something intriguing by using a usually kid-friendly form of entertainment as a vehicle for a relatively more adult-themed kind of show like this one.
