One of the main factors of the animated Harley Quinn series that makes it so beloved is the humor. The jokes and comedy in this supervillain series come thick and fast and have already led to some very memorable moments worthy of being an internet meme.

There are so many funny moments in Harley Quinn, thanks to its excellent cast of characters. Whilst all the characters have their funny moments and one-liners, some certainly stand out from the rest of the pack. Due to their personalities and their voice actors, the show's funniest characters are delightful and hilarious to watch whenever they're on screen, even when they perhaps shouldn't be.

Commissioner Gordon

Clayface's Arm bonds with Commissioner Gordon in the Harley Quinn series

One of the most outstanding factors of Harley Quinn is the show's depiction of Commissioner Gordon. It is not only the most unique take on the character but possibly one of the most flawed, and it leads to some fantastically funny scenes and moments from the jaded law enforcer.

From his pitiful neediness for Batman's friendship to his crumbling marriage, Gordon is a very tragi-comical character. He is an absolute mess (practically hitting rock-bottom in the middle of season 2) and it's what makes him both likable and funny. Gordon's funniest storyline (and a highlight of the first season) is perhaps his surreal yet wholesome friendship with Clayface's dismembered arm.

Riddler

Harley Quinn The Riddler Edward Nigma

A well-known villain in the Batman universe, the Riddler is a supporting character in Harley Quinn. Yet this version of the Riddler has become a well-liked character and that is partly down to his sense of humor.

Riddler has some brilliant and funny lines in the show, such as proudly claiming: "I ate an orange and s**t out a seed!" when Harley asks Ivy how she got hold of a plant to break out of Arkham. But one unusual factor in why the Riddler is one of the show's best characters is the change to his physique. Due to being trapped on a giant hamster wheel for weeks, the Riddler becomes extremely muscular and very proud of it. Whilst odd to see a villain that values brains over brawn become so jacked up, it is overall very funny and makes him a memorable addition to the show.

King Shark

Brought in to Harley's crew to help find her a nemesis in the fourth episode "Finding Mr. Right," King Shark surprised both Harley and audiences by being a good-natured computer genius.

Juxtaposing his brutal sharklike nature (such as biting peoples' heads off and going berserk at the smell of blood) with a sweet and gentle personality leads to a number of brilliantly funny moments in the series, including an Easter Egg moment when Batman brings out the Shark Repellant to use on him. It's made even better that he would much rather be quietly used behind the scenes than his brute strength. As a result, King Shark is not only one of the most wholesome characters in Harley Quinn but also one of the funniest.

"Stephanie"

Stephanie, Psycho and King Shark in the Harley Quinn series

When it comes to schemes, Clayface is a very dedicated character actor. Each of his performances is extremely hammy to the point of being hilariously ridiculous (although the overacting worked in his favor when impersonating the equally theatrical Aquaman). But none have been as exceptional and funny as Stephanie.

Throughout the episode "Riddler U," Clayface takes on the role of college student Stephanie and plays it so well that Stephanie becomes something of a character in her own right. Even Harley comments on it being Clayface's best work. What makes Stephanie so funny is hearing the valley girl accent in Alan Tudyk's voice, and Clayface's sheer dedication to the role, right down to being Chad's "almost girlfriend." It's definitely one of the funniest moments in the Harley Quinn series.

Joker

Joker "Where's My Electric Car?" in the Harley Quinn series

Because of his abhorrent personality and treatment of others (especially Harley), Joker should be loathsome. However, he proves to be one of the funniest characters in the show.

As the Clown Prince of Crime, Joker prides himself on being funny. In fact, he is extremely insistent on this in the first episode when Riddler is named Gotham's funniest villain on the news. But it is when he is not in Gotham's public eye that Joker is at his funniest. For instance, his arguments with his contractor about building his lair within council regulations are excellent, and his reaction to learning that Batman is Bruce Wayne is comedy gold. "Where's my goddamn electric car, Bruce?!" is side-splitting and easily one of the funniest quotes in the Harley Quinn series.

Kite Man

Kite Man

D-list villain Kite Man was not introduced until the second episode but from the moment he first appears on screen (by creepily saying "Kite Man" in Ivy's ear), Kite Man has proven to be not only one of the show's funniest characters but a solid fan favorite.

Kite Man is something of a himbo. This and his dedication to his kite theme provide for a lot of humorous moments, as he is treated as a joke by those around him, something emphasized by his rivalry with another joker villain, the Condiment King. But Kite Man is also funny when trying his best to woo the introverted Ivy. The funniest example is easily his episode debut, "A High Bar", where his attempts to pick up Ivy come off as lame and cringeworthy. And let's not forget his simple yet effective catchphrase: "Hell yeah!"

Clayface

Clayface introduces himself in The Harley Quinn series.

Most versions of the villain Clayface are usually sinister or tragic (or sometimes both). But Harley Quinn's version of Clayface is more upbeat and overall very entertaining. As mentioned before, Clayface is a very enthusiastic actor, and his attempts to create thorough dramatic backstories for what are essentially minute-long distraction disguises are utterly brilliant.

Whilst Clayface's over-zealous dedication to his roles exasperate Harley and the crew, they are hilarious for the audience as he tries to put on the perfect performance. One very noteworthy example is where he is desperate to sing at Ivy and Kite Man's wedding purely to impress who he thought was Tim Burton, despite the ensuing chaos that's happening around him. Clayface's optimism, in general, adds to the humor and it's hard not to love him for it.

Frank The Plant

Harley Quinn and Frank The Plant

One of the show's best original characters is Frank, a giant talking plant who lives with Poison Ivy, who gave him consciousness at some point before the series' main timeline. Whilst he ultimately becomes a valued member of Harley's crew, Frank is most known for his comedic relief.

Frank always has something to say, whether it's a wisecracking comment or some brutally honest advice, and often lightens even the most serious moments in the show with his one-liners. The best example of this is during Poison Ivy's funeral. Although devastated by her death, Frank is more concerned about who will now water his roots: "I don't trust any of these a******s!" Because of his quick-talking ways, and brilliant voice acting from J.B. Smooth, Frank is almost always funny whenever he is on screen. And being one of the best-designed characters in Harley Quinn as well, it's little wonder the foul-mouthed plant is a scene-stealer.

Dr. Psycho

Dr Psycho on the Tawny Show from Harley Quinn

Misogynistic, selfish, rude, and later a traitor to Harley, Dr. Psycho should really be one of the least likable characters in the show. Yet it is his dislikable attitude and flaws that make him one of the funniest characters in Harley Quinn.

Dr. Psycho's comedic moments are partly emphasized by his ludicrous behavior. In fact, one of the show's best highlights is how he is exiled from the Legion of Doom for calling Wonder Woman and Giganta the c-word. But what also makes him so funny is that Psycho is quick-witted and has some of the funniest lines in the show, which are mostly rude comments and insults delivered brilliantly by his voice actor Tony Hale. Dr. Psycho is an excellent example of making what should be a loathsome character extremely funny and somewhat oddly likable.

Bane

DC's Harley Quinn Show Bane With Umbrella Drink

Although a supporting character, Bane has become one of Harley Quinn's standout stars. An unusually wholesome villain bullied by his peers (even though he could easily take them out single-handedly), Bane is designed to be comic relief and he more than delivers on the humor.

Bane is a very lovable character and has a vast number of brilliantly funny moments throughout the show, ranging from throwing a tantrum over an office chair to dropping a disgruntled F-bomb when he messes up a card trick. But the icing on the cake is his voice, which parodies Tom Hardy's portrayal of the character in The Dark Knight Rises. This, combined with a wholesome personality, makes Bane the funniest supporting character in the show, if not, the funniest overall character.
