Hannah Montana was one of the longest-running Disney Channel sitcoms and one of the most explosive franchises the network ever saw. The Hannah Montana craze is a valuable part of popular culture, and Disney+ subscribers have enjoyed reliving their favorite moments with the undercover pop star.

Now that old fans have spent some time with Miley Stewart and friends once again, they have some pending questions about the series. As much as Disney kids love it, here are ten things that never made sense about Hannah Montana.

Miley Barely Kept The Double Life A Secret

Countless articles have been written and videos have been made about how often Miley/Hannah reveals her double life. It would seem that she could never keep her cover, with so many people in the world knowing (especially after the movie).

This is the most obvious issue with the series, but true fans know how to suspend their disbelief.

The Hannah Money

Oliver And Miley As Hannah In Hannah Montana

Hannah Montana is loaded, and that means Miley Stewart is, too. Or does it? "The Hannah Money" is an occasional point of conflict on the show, which isn't really resolved whenever it's mentioned.

Miley lives a double life where she makes bank, but she's not supposed to touch any of the dough yet. This doesn't always hold up, considering that Miley obviously broke the rule more than once, considering that Hannah and Miley both have some pretty nice (and expensive) things.

Miley & Hannah Live In The Same House

Hannah Montana Main Cast

It is established in the first episode that Miley's house is also Hannah's house because Hannah is having an outfit tailored in the living room. This kind of makes sense since Miley and Hannah are the same person, but a bit more thought makes one raise some questions -- especially when one thinks of the logistical nightmare of having a private life as a big-named celebrity known around the world.

While no further Hannah business really takes place at home, fans wonder how the show covers up the fact that two different girls are apparently living in the same Malibu home. And one of those girls isn't just any girl -- it's mega star Hannah Montana! What's the in-universe explanation for this?

Hannah's Meteoric Rise To Stardom

Hannah Montana Nobody's Perfect

At one point, Robbie Ray mentions that he and Miley created Hannah Montana so that Miley could still live a normal life while pursuing her dream to be a popular singer. Fans were on board because the show could not exist the same way otherwise. By the same token, fans do wonder how exactly Hannah became so famous.

She has legions of screaming fans from episode one, but the backstory and her rise to stardom are incomplete. There have been talks of a prequel that would follow young Miley from her upbringing in Tennessee to her early days as Hannah. Maybe that will someday come to fruition.

The Movie's Storyline

Lilly And Miley In Hannah Montana The Movie

Even the writers of Hannah Montana (the series) know that the feature film created some glaring inconsistencies. That's not to say that it's all bad, as fans do love the movie for revealing a taste of Miley's roots (in real life, too) and for creating classics like "Hoedown Throwdown" and "The Climb."

However, fans still take issue with the fact that Miley's love interest, Travis (Lucas Till), is gorgeous and perfect for her and is never seen again after the movie. Forget Jake and Jesse -- where is Travis?

Miley's School/Celebrity Life Balance

Going back to the show, Miley's school is central to many storylines. But how does she even manage to go every day?

With Hannah Montana's insane popularity, surely Miley must get pulled out of school for tours, press conferences, talk show appearances, and the like. Even if she is "normal by day" and "a star by night," some obligations of the celebrity lifestyle take place during school hours.

Hannah's Famous Friends Never Catch On

Miley Cyrus And Selena Gomez As Hannah Montana And Mikayla

Hannah Montana has some famous friends and frenemies, both real and imagined. That being said, it doesn't make sense that she is able to keep up appearances as an A-list celebrity and still have so much time to hang at the beach as Miley, who has her own set of friends and frenemies.

Aren't her famous friends on to her scheme? With all the gossip in Hollywood, it is a miracle that Hannah can keep up friendships from two different lives and be two different people at once.

Miley & Hannah Use The Same Phone

Just as they share a house, Hannah and Miley (at least in some episodes) share a phone. The very first episode relies on a cell phone to reveal Miley's double life to Lilly. When Lilly is in Hannah's dressing room, she calls Miley, and Hannah's cell phone rings.

Lilly passes it off as a weird coincidence, but it ultimately leads her closer to Hannah to discover the same charm bracelet she gave Miley. If this phone issue could happen with Lilly, it could happen with anybody. Also, it would make more sense for Miley to have a dedicated phone for her personal life and another one for her career.

Miley's "Ghost" Mom

Brooke Shields Hannah Montana

Miley and Jackson Stewart really miss their mom on the show, but she occasionally appears to guide Miley, comfort her, or teach her a lesson. The scenes where Brooke Shields plays Miley's mother are both poignant and lovely, but fans are meant to wonder what they are really seeing.

In an interview with the author, creator Michael Poryes suggested that the scenes themselves are purposefully enigmatic. Miley needs her mom, but when she sees her, is it a dream? A vision? A hallucination? Some type of supernatural reality? Who knows!

The Etymology Of Hannah Montana

Hannah Montana And Lola Luftnagle

Ever wonder where the name "Hannah Montana" came from? Legend has it that the rhyming first name plus state thing was planned all along. It could have been "Alexis Texas," though.

Plenty of stories exist on the Internet for how exactly Hannah's name came to be, including a coincidental flip through a magazine, but it may never make total sense. That's part of the beautiful mystery of the music-centered show, though.
