The E3 2019 announcement of 343 Industries’ Halo Infinite has gathered renewed interest of a Halo-themed Xbox Series X console. When the first leak of Microsoft's upcoming next-gen video game console hit social media, many were quick to liken it to a fridge or a cinder block, and some even went as far as to make assumptions on its size compared to a banana. When the alleged leaked image turned out to be quite accurate, the Xbox Series X was eventually accepted in the gaming world, and despite the plethora of memes and humorous comparisons, it seems some players have seen the potential for an impressive Halo Infinite design.

Wish lists of things people want from Halo: Infinite have begun circulating online among Halo and Xbox followers alike. At the top of the list is a Halo Infinite Edition of the Xbox Series X console, and many Halo enthusiasts have taken to creating and sharing fan art and concepts for what a Halo Infinite Series X may look like. Now, thanks to the artist XboxPope, Halo fans might have found the best option yet.

The ongoing discussion of a possible Halo Infinite Xbox Series X console began after XboxPope's fan-made design showcasing a green variation of the console emerged on Reddit. With some calling for a more rugged and less green console, and others wanting a design similar to that of the Halo 5: Guardians grey/silver variant, fans will have to wait for the game's eventual release to see which vision, if either, will come to life. Over the years there have been numerous Xbox Limited Edition Halo consoles, with the first translucent green edition releasing in 2004 and the most recent version, from Halo 5: Guardians, in 2015. Check out XboxPope's rendition of the Halo Series X below:

Halo Infinite is set to launch across the entire Xbox family of next generation consoles, and it comes as no surprise that fans would anticipate a beautiful Halo Infinite Xbox Series X alongside it, especially following the eye-catching visuals of Halo Infinite’s SlipSpace Engine-powered gameplay. With the Xbox Series X currently boasting the most powerful console design and features thus far, and the SlipSpace Engine being created to accommodate the development of Halo Infinite, the combination of these two could mean a bigger and improved gameplay experience for players and fans of the Halo franchise.

Development of Halo Infinite and the Xbox Series X is seemingly on track despite the worldwide impact of COVID-19 coronavirus in the gaming industry. Up until now, 343 industries has maintained an emphasis on open dialogue with the Halo community. This kind of encouraged communication could give Halo Infinite a greater chance of hitting all the right notes by taking into account the expectations and accumulated experience of Halo players throughout the franchise. Hopefully Xbox is taking notes and realizing just how many people want a Halo Infinite Series X console. With positive buzz around the game, Halo Infinite could possibly become the defining title for the Xbox Series X, maybe even with an enticing console to match.
