Microsoft’s Halo Infinite gets a short teaser ahead of its Xbox Games Showcase reveal. Over the Fourth of July weekend, a Halo Infinite toy leak had fans wondering if the figures spoiled the game’s plot in any way, though, this query was addressed by 343 Industries saying they don’t. A different spoiler, however, may have dropped in the new Halo Infinite Mega Blok line, which featured toy armor on a new enemy.

Since its announcement, Halo Infinite has made headlines with a plethora of speculation, peppered with occasional leaks and teasers that confirm little-to-nothing about the game. The game has had a long development road, and a couple of lead creators left the production team over time. However, despite its tumultuous development process, Halo Infinite remains one of the most anticipated titles of 2020 set to launch with the Xbox Series X.

Posted on the official Xbox Twitter page, Halo Infinite has received a short teaser a week ahead of its Xbox Games Showcase reveal. The teaser is a GIF of the number 117 – Master Chief’s renowned moniker as Spartan 117 – being grafted onto a piece of green armor. Clearly, the armor is Master Chief’s famous MJOLNIR Powered Assault Armor receiving some much-needed care after all the abuse through which it has been put. Fans can view the GIF below.

One fan responded to the GIF saying it gave them chills for a moment. Another asked if the number 117 represented anything special outside of being Master Chief’s number in a production line, to which Xbox replied, “We always thought it was just a number. He’s the one that made it special.” Overall, the consensus among fans on Twitter appears to be an appreciation for the image and excitement for more to come at the Showcase and when the game launches in Holiday 2020.

Halo Infinite has been one of those most informatively barren titles in the franchise. Prior to each previous game’s launch, either Bungie, Microsoft, or 343 Industries revealed an abundance of information without spoiling much about the stories. Whether to garner more drama and anticipation or to avoid overhyping something they can’t deliver based on gamers’ expectations with the game launching with the Xbox Series X, 343 Industries and Xbox Game Studios have kept fans mostly in the dark regarding Halo Infinite. While teasing fans is fun and certainly stirs excitement, it can also get to a point of frustrating them, as gamers like to know if a coveted title seems worth purchasing prior to its launch, and in-engine footage, gameplay trailers, and other more in-depth reveals are a great way to help them make that determination. Hopefully, fans will get more during the Xbox Games Showcase on July 23, 2020.
