The long-awaited Halo Infinite may be getting a bit of a re-reveal this summer as 343 Industries teased new gameplay this summer. This will be the first gameplay for Halo Infinite since last summer's demo, which led to so much criticism that Microsoft and 343 made the choice to delay the game an entire year.

Last summer, 343 Industries debuted the first look at Halo Infinite, and although it looked really slick to play, there were many fans who were less than impressed by its visuals. Due to development shifting to a work from home environment just months before the demo, among other factors, Infinite suffered in some areas. Many games could side step this, but the new title was meant to make up for the heavily panned Halo 5 that came five years prior, and also to serve as a technical showcase for the Xbox Series X. It has been almost a year since fans saw footage of the game, but 343 is almost ready to lift the curtain on the more polished version of Infinite.

In a new Halo Waypoint post, 343 confirmed new plans for Halo Infinite gameplay at some summer gaming events, likely E3 2021 in June. No exact details were given beyond this, but Halo Infinite updates have been in abundance since the start of 2021. 343 Industries has been releasing tons of screenshots, sound bites, and more to stay absolutely transparent about the game's development and keep fans hooked until it is ready to show again.

"While I hope you enjoyed this month’s 1,000-word screenshots, we know that game videos are worth at least 10,000 words. And the great news is that Summer i.e., game industry event season, is just around the corner—and there are glorious plans afoot."

Halo Infinite Will Have Crossplay, Cross-Progression Between Xbox & PC

It's a bit surprising that 343 and Xbox have kept the game under wraps since last summer, especially because there must have been more marketing plans that were totally axed leading up to November. The fact that there wasn't any gameplay or trailers at the The Game Awards in December is noteworthy, likely indicating that the team is committed to showing the game only when it's truly ready.

There is still plenty of mystery surrounding Halo Infinite, but there have been teases that indicate how special it will be for fans. 343 has heavily teased the return of the flood in Halo Infinite, among many other things, showing that this is a game made by fans for fans. It's rare that a game gets delayed an entire year just before it's actually released. And aside from the graphics, it looked like the was in pretty good shape, so it'll be really interesting to see how much 343 has been able to improve on Halo Infinite when it debuts a new look this summer.
