In Halo Infinite, opening a loot cave in Big Team Battle mode could turn the tide if it yields valuable weapons. Opening a loot cave in an online match gives players access to powerful guns and lets Halo players acquire an achievement. In addition to firearms, the loot cave can also yield critical equipment that players can utilize. Even though Halo Infinite’s multiplayer is currently in Beta, the game still has plenty of achievements to offer, and one of them can be acquired in about 20 seconds.

While challenges in Halo Infinite might not always be working as intended, achievements can still be racked up by players. For example, the achievement related to opening a loot cave is called the “Natural Formation Location Sensation,” and it requires players to successfully open a loot cave in Halo Infinite's multiplayer. Inside the loot cave, players will be able to get their hands on rocket launchers, grenades, two armor abilities, and a regular weapon. The weapons found inside the loot cave are randomly generated and gets replenished after a short duration.

Getting access to powerful weapons and equipment in Halo Infinite gives players an advantage that could end up determining the outcome of a match. For example, equipment like the Overshield gives players an extra layer of armor, while the Grappleshot can be used to get a height advantage on the map. Similarly, powerful weapons like the SPNKR Rocket Launcher can help players take down enemy vehicles.

Halo Infinite: How to Open Loot Caves (& Where To Find Them)

As of now, there are only two loot caves that can be opened in Halo Infinite's multiplayer, and both of them are available on the Fragmentation map. The two caves are located on the left and the right side of the map so that players from both teams can contest for them. The entrance to the loot cave has a bright red door with a triangle-shaped button right next to it. Players can open the door by holding down the Interact button and not leaving the side of their AI companion.

The AI takes about 20 seconds to unlock the door, and players must defend it from enemies to avoid interruption. Once inside, close the loot cave door so that nobody else can enter. Inside, players can find an array of randomly generated weapons and include armaments like the S7 Sniper or the Needler. Finally, it’s worthy to note that the cave loot door shuts after players leave the cave and has a two-minute cooldown before the door can be opened again.
