Potential spoiler warning ahead for Halo Infinite. Turn back now if you want to remain spoiler-free.

An upcoming toy line from Mega Bloks has seemingly revealed the fate of a particular character in the Halo universe. Fans have been chomping at the bit to see more of the upcoming Halo Infinite after the brief teases provided by Microsoft thus far. Outside of a few in-engine cutscenes and the fact that it will release across Xbox One and Xbox Series X, not much is known about the title. Fortunately, the wait won't be all that much longer for eager fans.

Xbox Game Studios is set to reveal a number of new games for the Xbox Series X in July 2020. While titles like Perfect Dark and Fable are rumored to see a return during the showcase, the crown jewel of the presentation is expected to be Halo Infinite. Gamers have been promised a better look at the game at that point. So, while excitement is sure to continue growing, a major plot point for the series may have been leaked via a recent toy announcement.

The toy brand Mega Bloks recently posted an image of a new Halo Infinite set that is in the works at the company. While the longstanding partnership between Mega Bloks and Xbox wasn't surprising, what this particular set revealed certainly was. Now archived on reddit after being removed from the Mega Bloks site, the image shows a member of Halo's Brute species that has seemingly installed the helmet of Halo 5 Guardians' Spartan Jameson Locke on his shoulder armor. Of course, this would imply that the alien antagonist has managed to slay the character.

Halo Infinite Leak

It was believed that Locke would play some sort of role in Halo Infinite given how prominent he was in the previous title. At the close of that game, Locke and Master Chief stood united against the threat that Cortana (who had gone rogue) had become. Despite this, it's clear that a lot has happened since that time. With Master Chief being rescued in the Halo Infinite trailer from E3 2019, the surviving Spartans and members of the UNSC have run into some major issues.

If Spartan Locke has truly been defeated off-camera by a member of Halo Infinite's new enemy faction dubbed The Fallen, then it's possible that the fates of several other known characters are equally as grim. Time will tell what awaits players in the new story, but it seems clear that not everything is hunky-dory in the Halo universe.
