Halo Infinite's multiplayer will be receiving a handful of new maps, if a recent leak is to be believed. Infinite's multiplayer mode, while wildly successful, has come under some criticism owing to its lack of content and problematic microtransaction system, the latter of which is currently being addressed by 343 Industries.

Halo Infinite's free-to-play multiplayer component launched ahead of the game's campaign on November 15, 2021. While the multiplayer has been and is currently receiving heaps of praise from all corners of the gaming community, with many calling Infinite a much-needed return to form for the franchise, others are less satisfied; the most pressing concern lies within the game's sluggish, drawn-out progression system, with new cosmetics and other unlockables taking far too long to obtain. However, complaints have also been raised related to the game's overall lack of content stemming from its limited collection of game modes and list of maps. The content of Infinite's multiplayer has been expanded with the addition of classic game modes like Fiesta and new cosmetics like the Cat Ears Helmet, but no new maps have been added at this time.

This could be changing soon, according to a recent Tweet from the Halo Infinite Leaks and News Twitter account which was reported on by Dexerto. The Tweet contained an image of something that resembles an internal screenshot from 343 Industries portraying blockout versions of five different maps under the header "Halo Infinite Unreleased Maps." The simplistic, texture-less images are incomplete versions of what consumers would be getting if this leak is indeed accurate. The body of the Tweet lists the names of these new maps: Bath Salts, Cataract, Forbidden, Beltway, and Solitude.

Just like with any leak that has yet to be commented on by any official source, the announcement of these new maps should be received with a hefty serving of salt. Still, it is clear that 343 Industries is steadily working to improve and expand the game with new unlockables and fixes for things like Big Team BattleInfinite's multiplayer has been out for roughly two months at this point, so an update containing a selection of new maps is far from inconceivable.

Whether or not these maps will satisfy Halo Infinite's passionate fanbase will remain to be seen. The preliminary images shared with this Tweet don't do much for establishing a strong impression of what these maps will be like to play in. Either way, new maps will undoubtedly be added to Halo Infinite at some point.
