Developer 343 Industries' update regarding the Forge and campaign co-op modes in Halo Infinite will now arrive at a later date. 343 Industries informed fans last summer that Halo Infinite would not launch with Forge and campaign co-op ready to go. Instead, the team planned on deploying Forge Mode in a Season 2 update for the shooter, with the cooperative gameplay option following close behind in Season 3.

Though 343 never confirmed specific due dates for the content launches, the extension of Halo Infinite Season 1 to May 2022 ruffled a fair few feathers since it was clear that both Seasons 2 and 3 would continue to ride the bench quite a while longer. In November 2021, Halo players were told to expect news about the eagerly-anticipated Forge and campaign co-op modes in January. The start of the new year came and went without an update, much to the chagrin of many a fan. Understandably, then, questions concerning Halo Infinite Season 2 and beyond continue to linger unanswered.

Halo Infinite's Head of Creative, Joseph Staten (via VGC), recently took to Twitter to outline 343 Industries' current line of thinking. While a news update about the Seasonal roadmap, Forge, and campaign co-op was meant to go live in January, Staten said the team has postponed such an overview in an effort to "finalize" concrete plans that players can reliably count on. He added that organizing the impending news update presently serves as his "top priority," but wouldn't offer any information as to when the details will finally begin making the rounds. Staten's post on the matter can be found below.

This news will undoubtedly disappoint users looking forward to news about Halo Infinite's Seasonal roadmap and future modes, but at least 343 Industries is in no rush to reveal promises it ultimately can't keep. And with Season 1 set to last through May, it would seem the studio has plenty of time to outline future plans for the first-person shooter's content releases.

After a rocky development cycle and a lengthy delay, Halo Infinite launched digitally and at retail in December 2021 to widespread acclaim. The title's release came with a number of hiccups, though, particularly in the battle pass department. Fortunately, the production crew at 343 continues to iron out the kinks in this regard, while other patches target fixes that address Big Team Battle and shop-related improvements. Needless to say, the fun for Halo Infinite is just beginning.
