The age of Halo Infinite's samurai-themed event is done, but the age of neon mohawks is now with the new Cyber Showdown limited-time event. The Halo series has always succeeded in creating an extensive multiplayer experience filled with armor customization and highly adjustable gameplay. While Halo Infinite is the first game in the series to offer free-to-play multiplayer, it is not the first Halo game to offer stylish Samurai-themed skins.

The latest game in the Halo franchise has successfully brought the series back from the ashes and has managed to hit a chord with today's gamers' with fun gameplay and cross-play, allowing gamers to easily play with their friends across current and next-gen Xbox's and PCs. Many Halo fans who grew up with the series would argue that its multiplayer is what makes the series special. The game's developer has promised more multiplayer maps and additions as time goes on. Although 343 Studios continues to work hard, players and restaurant chain Wendy's want Co-Op added to Halo Infinite's campaign as soon as possible. However, developers have a new event with bright neon items to unlock in the meantime.

Earlier today, the Halo Waypoint Blog announced that players can now take part in the new Cyber Showdown limited event featuring the new Attrition Slayer playlist to unlock new customization rewards. The newest Attrition mode will have 4v4 battles, with each team sharing a set number of lives. Unlike previous multiplayer modes in Halo Infinite, teammates will be able to revive each other while competing to lower each team's total number of lives to zero. Halo Infinite's Cyber Showdown event will be live from January 18 to February 1. During that time, fans will be able to work towards completing ten different event challenges and unlocking cyber-themed goodies.

While the new event is not what all Halo Infinite fans were waiting for the newest limited-time event follows the last Fracture: Tenrai event, which saw players complete challenges to unlock Samurai-themed Spartan armor and other cosmetics. However, the new Cyber Showdown's unlocks closer resemble a shiny neon future than the ancient ways of the Samurai. Some highlights of the multiple new unlocks include holographic visors and spikey mohawks, hopefully, all the rage at future punk rock shows. Players can get a good look at the unlocks at the Halo Waypoint blog and see them in action in the trailer above.

Since the multiplayer launched in November 2021, Halo Infinite fans have been thoroughly enjoying their experience as the game has managed to maintain an average of over 30,000 players. 343 Studios plans on keeping fans interested with timed events like the Cyber Showndown and Fracture: Tenrai events adding variation to the multiplayer. While new maps are hopefully in Halo Infinite's near future, players are anxious to see what else the game's developer has planned for Halo Infinite's long life cycle.
