Halo Infinite features 12 Skulls that players can collect while free-roaming and playing through campaign missions. Some of the Skulls can be very difficult to locate, and since the campaign missions are not replayable in Halo Infinite, there are five Skulls that are missable. To obtain every Skull in the game, players will need to thoroughly explore every region and use their scanner often.

Like in previous Halo games, skulls act as modifiers in Halo Infinite, and they can be activated at the start of a new playthrough or before continuing an ongoing save file. The Skulls can make the game easier or harder depending on which ones are turned on. For example, one Skull can give players infinite ammunition while others will increase enemy grenade throws or give them more health.

Each Skull has a unique modifier that changes Halo Infinite in some way, and several of them can be used to make the game more challenging. The Skulls are generally well-hidden or guarded by Banished in Halo Infinite. Finding the hardest Skulls will take some time and require players to complete platforming challenges or meet specific requirements in order to unlock them.

Halo Infinite's Hardest Skull Locations - Cowbell Skull

How to Activate Skulls in Halo Infinite

Cowbell is a Skull that is only available to collect during the second mission in Halo Infinite, called Foundation. When activated, the Cowbell Skull increases acceleration from explosions. Skulls with this effect have been used in previous Halo games to complete speedruns. This Skull is difficult to find and even more so to obtain since it's not immediately visible on the scanner, and players will need to grapple at the right angles to reach it.

Halo Infinite's Cowbell Skull is in the large room just after players go through the area with holograms of children. Due to the high ceiling, the Skull won't show from the scanner until players get closer to it. Grabbing the Cowbell Skull involves using the Grappleshot in Halo Infinite to reach one of the pillars, then jumping and grappling to the top section. This can be tricky because players will need to land in a small opening using momentum from the Grappleshot.

Halo Infinite's Hidden Skulls - Bandana Skull

Halo Infinite Hardest Skulls to Find Bandana

During the last mission in Halo Infinite, players can find the Bandana Skull, which grants unlimited ammunition and grenades as well as removes equipment cooldowns. Bandana can be a tough Skull to obtain because it's only available if specified conditions are met. While playing through Silent Auditorium, players will need to be careful not to destroy any Sentinels.

There aren't too many Sentinels in the Silent Auditorium level, but destroying even one will lock the door to the Bandana Skull. If no Sentinels were killed, players will be able to find the unlocked door across a light bridge just before going into the elevator at the end of the level. Although the Skull is not too hard to locate, it can be difficult to obtain if players aren't aware of the criteria for opening the door. The Bandana Skull is also arguably the most useful Skull in Halo Infinite.

Where To Find Halo Infinite's Black Eye Skull

Halo Infinite Hardest Skulls to Find Black Eye

The Black Eye Skull is difficult to find because it doesn't appear in the place that's marked on the map. Players will find themselves in an open, swampy area if they go to the Skull symbol, but it won't be immediately obvious where to look for it. Players can find the Black Eye Skull in a small cave about halfway up behind the waterfall in the area where the Skull symbol appears on the map. Activating the Black Eye Skull in Halo Infinite makes it so shields only recharge when enemies are hit with melee attacks.

The Grunt Birthday Party Skull Returns In Halo Infinite

Halo Infinite Hardest Skulls to Find Grunt Birthday Party

To add confetti and cheers to Grunt headshot deaths, players will need to find and collect the Grunt Birthday Party Skull. This Halo Infinite collectible is only available during the mission Repository, and players will need to do some prep work earlier in the level in order to gain access to it. In the area with the light bridge, there's a room on each side of the bridge that players' can grapple to. One contains a Power Seed and the other has the generator that's missing a seed.

Delivering the Power Seed opens an area later in the level where players can find the Grunt Birthday Party Skull, a staple of previous Halo games. The location for the Skull will be a few rooms later, and Halo Infinite campaign players will need to look up and go through the opening in the ceiling. Using the scanner is an easy way to reveal where the Skull is located. The Grunt Birthday Party Skull is difficult to find because players can easily miss the Power Seed step, and once the mission is complete there's no way to go back and obtain the Skull afterward.

Halo Infinite's Hardest Skulls To Find - Fog Skull

Halo Infinite Where to Find Every Skull Fog Skull Location

The Fog Skull, which disables the motion tracking radar, is only difficult to reach because players will need to swing their way to it using the Grappleshot. Aiming the grapple gadget midair and using the momentum to land in the right spots can be a difficult task for any player. To reach the Fog Skull collectible in Halo Infinite, players need to make a series of successful grapples through a narrow path of hexagonal pillars before finally reaching the Skull.

Halo Infinite's Blind Skull Is Hard To Find

Halo Infinite Hardest Skulls to Find Blind

Acquiring the Blind Skull requires a bit of platforming and a small leap of faith off of a low point between the two southern landmasses in Halo Infinite. The map doesn't show the location of the Blind Skull well, because it's actually deep below ground level. Players will need to fall in between the two mountains, then go further down, jump off the edge, and turn around to grapple to the Blind Skull.

Along with trying to find where the Skull actually is, players are challenged to Grappleshot to the platform it's on, which can take a few tries if players are inexperienced with Halo Infinite's grappling mechanics. However, once on the platform, players can quickly grab the Skull and move on. The Blind Skull can be used to hide the HUD and player's weapon from the screen, adding another level of difficulty to Halo Infinite.

Collecting every Skull in Halo Infinite can take a lot of time and a fair amount of exploration. Some of the Skulls are difficult to find or have requirements that need to be met before obtaining them. Players will also need to be good at angling the Grappleshot and capitalizing on the momentum it provides to swing to some of the Skulls. Halo Infinite includes 12 Skulls that can make the game more interesting or change the difficulty level.
