While the Halo Infinite cover art features a beautiful landscape behind the stoic Master Chief, the actual box is ruined by an excessive number of Xbox Series X badges. The artwork itself has fans excited with its callback to the cover of Halo: Combat Evolved.

Last week, a press kit showed the key art that will eventually adorn the Halo Infinite box. The brooding Master Chief stands front and center as a vast landscape flows behind him, revealing areas that players can presumably explore. The art was released a day before the first look at Halo Infinite's gameplay, and it helped build a massive amount of hype for the reveal. Now, some fans are more than disappointed by how the cover art will actually look on physical copies of the game.

Placeholder listings for Halo Infinite have appeared on Amazon that don't allow the game to be purchased yet, but do show what the box art will look like. The same artwork that appeared online last week is used for the cover, but there are a few more Xbox Series X logos on the cover than players had probably imagined. The case has the traditional Xbox logo across the top, but another square in the top right corner also signifies that the game is for the Xbox Series X. Just below that is a banner of sorts stating that the game is for Xbox Series X and Xbox One. But perhaps the most intrusive of these logos is the massive hexagonal Optimized for Xbox Series X badge to the left of Master Chief.

Twitter users such as PhantomArtifice took to social media to share their displeasure with how the box art looks. PhantomArtifice shared a screenshot of the German version of Halo Infinite's cover, which features even more room on the cover being obscured by a pending game rating logo. Twitter user mariofan48 created their own cover for Halo Infinite that fixes these issues while still getting the point across that Halo Infinite is for Xbox Series X.

Sadly, it seems as if most Xbox Series X games will include this overuse of the Xbox logo. A recent leak of Yakuza: Like A Dragon's box art shows a similarly unpleasant display. The stark black background of Yakuza's cover is rudely interrupted with the same green hexagon that appears on Halo Infinite's box. Hopefully, Xbox will see how displeased fans are and decide to change the box art before next-gen games hit store shelves.
