Halo Infinite puts more control in the hands of players as they take Master Chief through post-game activities once they stop the Banished. Unlike in previous titles, Halo Infinite's story doesn't fully stop once players beat the final mission, as the Banished still have control over much of Zeta Halo. With the help of Echo-216 and The Weapon, Master Chief can continue to explore Zeta Halo after putting an end to Escharum and the Harbinger.

Unfortunately, Halo Infinite does not feature a New Game Plus mode in which players retain their unlocked Valor and equipment upgrades. Additionally, a Halo Infinite co-op campaign still remains absent after players beat the game. The co-op campaign is set to be released sometime in 2022 alongside the launch of Halo Infinite's second season of multiplayer, according to 343 Industries. The campaign missions are also not replayable on a given save file, for now, which means players will have to restart the story on a separate save file if they wish to replay any main missions.

Once players beat Halo Infinite's main story, however, they'll be thrown back into open-world play across Zeta Halo. While they can't re-explore the areas of the first two missions that took place off Zeta Halo, players can continue to explore Halo Infinite's unique ring to collect any item, like a skull or audio log, that they may have missed as they completed their first playthrough. Additionally, every skull collected in Halo Infinite is account locked, so whatever skulls players find in their first playthrough can be accessed in their second.

Halo Infinite: Best Post-Game Activities To Complete

Halo Infinite Myriad Boss Fight

As Escharum mentioned during his fight with the Master Chief, the Banished continue to control much of Zeta Halo after players beat Halo Infinite. Any Forward Operating Bases, Marines, or Banished facilities that were not completed are still available after the main missions are finished. Depending on how many of these side missions players completed in their first playthrough, they may notice their Valor rank is not quite at its maximum yet. Completing the remaining activities allows players to get more Valor in Halo Infinite, giving them access to an array of new weapons and vehicles to requisition.

Master Chief can also continue to hunt down any remaining high-value targets that may have been missed before beating Halo Infinite. Defeating high-value targets allows players to unlock new weapon variations for various Banished weapons, often complemented by a perk such as increased sprint speed, firing rate, or damage output. Lastly, once players beat Halo Infinite they can start a fresh save file. Starting a new game allows players to go after a few of the Halo Infinite achievements, like the Forza Veloce achievement that requires players to complete all 14 main missions in under eight hours.
