One of the main characters in 2002's Halloween: Resurrection is Jennifer Danzig (Katee Sackhoff); here's an explanation behind her role and death in the film. The eighth installment in the renowned horror franchise sees very little of Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis), as Michael Myers ends up setting his sights on a group of college kids. They've signed up to be on a live, web-streamed reality show (called Dangertainment), where they snoop around Myers' childhood home--which has become a mythologized murder landmark--with cameras both watching them and picking up their point of view as they roam.

It turns out that mask-wearing Michael Myers has been living underneath the sealed-off house in an underground tunnel of sorts, most likely for years. Of course, he doesn't take kindly to the pack of young adults perusing his home, and murderous chaos ensues. Myers' character is utilized in the franchise's signature way: he's a silent, looming presence with super strength--and he gruesomely takes out everyone in his path.

In addition to celebrities such as Tyra Banks and Busta Rhymes, the film also prominently features actress Katee Sackhoff. Since then, she's become known for her roles in projects such as the 2014 horror flick Oculus and the more recent Netflix sci-fi series Another Life. In Halloween: Resurrection (which has four different endings) she plays Jennifer Danzig, a young woman hoping to, as she puts it, find "her way into network broadcasting" by being on Dangertainment. She's clearly eager to kick off her career and begin amassing a fanbase during her night in Haddonfield's eeriest landmark. That is, until she's decapitated by Myers at the top of a staircase. In a manner that's both comical and gross, her head can be seen slowly rolling down the stairs before it rests at the other terrified characters' feet.

Katee Sackhoff as Jen in Halloween Resurrection

In a 2020 episode on Sackhoff's YouTube channel, she reminisces about her role in the movie, which was her first job in a feature film. The actress reveals that she has never actually seen Halloween: Resurrection before, and proceeds to watch it and break it down for fans along the way. She also shares some information about her time on set. In regard to her character's death scene, she says that, though the fake head rolling down the staircase looks enough like her to work for the fairly quick scene, it didn't closely resemble her real face by any means. She provides a picture from the set where she's holding the fake, severed head next to her own to better illustrate the contrast. According to Sackhoff, she wanted to keep the prop as a gag memento for her parents, but the movie's team didn't allow it.

The actress also sheds some light on a scene where it appears she flashes her bra to tease another character, Bill. According to Sackhoff, she told the Halloween: Resurrection team she was uncomfortable doing the scene. She says she shot a brief sequence where she does have that type of interaction with Bill, but she purposely left her shirt at the top of her stomach and never revealed anything more. Unbeknownst to her, a body double was brought in, and part of the scene was shot using someone else's chest and midsection. Sackhoff says she's still not pleased with the move, calling it "hurtful for many reasons" because any type of nudity can "adversely affect your career," even if it isn't really you. But, overall, the actress seems to look back at her work on the movie fondly, with plenty of laughs.
