The Blumhouse Halloween timeline featured one specific injury that only proved fatal to Michael Myers himself. 1978's Halloween is the film that launched a million slasher imitators. The various sequels shunned the relatively bloodless nature of John Carpenter's original in favor of keeping up with rival franchises like Friday The 13th. Thus, supernatural boogeyman Michael Myers took to dispatching victims in a variety of creative ways, including drowning a nurse in boiling water (Halloween 2) or using farming implements (Halloween 5).

Arguably the most brutal iteration of Michael was seen in Blumhouse's Halloween legacy sequels. 2021's Halloween Kills contained the largest body count of the entire series, where The Shape massacred his way through Haddonfield as the town rallied to stop him. 2022's Halloween Ends is the rare slasher sequel that actually offered closure on a given storyline, and it's doubtful the next film will follow on from its events. Something interesting to note in both the original Halloween and David Gordon Green's sequel series is that one specific injury inflicted on multiple characters rarely proves fatal.

4 Halloween Movies Have Characters Stabbed In The Neck & Surviving

Deputy Hawkins with a neck injury from Halloween Kills.

One of the first signs to Halloween viewers that Michael was somewhat immortal came when Laurie (Jamie Lee Curtis) stabbed him in the neck with a needle. This seemingly killed him - only for the slasher to return to life soon after. Halloween 2018 then kicked off what appears to be an unintentional neck wound motif. Will Patton's Officer Hawkins is not only stabbed in the neck by Michael's evil doctor Sartain (Haluk Bilginer), he's then run over by the good doctor too. However, Halloween Kills showed that Hawkins actually survived this attack.

Halloween Kills continued the tradition, where the character of Sondra Dickerson (Diva Tyler) is attacked in her home alongside her husband. In one of the sequel's darkest scenes, Michael breaks a light fixture and stabs her through the neck with it. She's then forced to watch as Myers impales her husband with multiple knives. Just like Hawkins, however, Halloween Ends - in which Michael got his ass-kicked - revealed Sondra lived, though she can no longer speak. Finally, Halloween Ends saw copycat Corey (Rohan Campbell) attempt to die by suicide when he stabs himself in the neck. Inexplicably, he manages to survive - only for Michael himself to kill him soon after.

Halloween Ends Finally Killed Michael Myers... With A Neck Wound

Maybe the neck injury motif was planned after all, as Halloween Ends closes with Laurie finally killing Michael by slicing his neck and wrist. This confirmed that despite his superhuman resilience, Michael was still a human being after all. Of course, the town tosses his body into an industrial shredder, just to be certain. Whether by design or accident, Blumhouse's Halloween movie sequels had a curious obsession with characters surviving traumatic neck injuries. Given the harsh kill count of the legacy saga, at least Green was nice enough to let some characters live through Michael's various misadventures on Halloween night.
