A new behind-the-scenes video for Halloween Kills features co-writer/director David Gordon Green explaining the meaning of the film's deaths. Green returns to the helm with a script co-written by new trilogy partner Danny McBride and Scott Teems. The film picks up from the events of 2018's Halloween as Michael Myers escapes the fiery trap set by Jamie Lee Curtis' Laurie Strode and resumes his murderous streak through Haddonfield, though the town folk elect to take the fight to the local monster.

Curtis returns to lead the cast of Halloween Kills alongside Andi Matichak, Judy Greer, Kyle Richards, Charles Cyphers, Will Patton, Nancy Stephens, Dylan Arnold and Omar Dersey, with Anthony Michael Hall and Robert Longstreet making their franchise debuts as legacy characters Tommy Doyle and Lonnie Elam. The horror sequel made its world premiere this past September at the Venice International Film Festival to generally mixed reviews from critics who praised Halloween Kills' kills, franchise lore and performances while criticizing a lack of innovation for the series. As the film gears up for its wide release, Universal and Blumhouse are looking to keep anticipation high for its debut.

With just a few days remaining until the film's anticipated arrival, Universal Pictures has unveiled a new BTS video for Halloween Kills. The featurette sees co-writer/director Green explaining the thought process that goes into each kill in the sequel, including Michael's mindset of methods and brutality. Check out the video below:

The new BTS video for Halloween Kills may come as a bit of a disappointment to some viewers for its confirmation of a few of the film's victims. While previous trailers for the film have spotlighted the murders of the firefighters at the start of the film and an unlucky elderly couple, the new video seems to indicate the demise of a number of returning performers. Brief glimpses of Nancy Stephens' Marion Chambers, Dylan Arnold's Cameron Elam and Michael Smallwood's Marcus can be seen in the video and given the video's subject, it does point towards a red herring for their appearances.

Should David Gordon Green and his crew actually have taken out the returning characters for Halloween Kills, it certainly creates a possibility that other legacy characters won't make it out alive in the film. Jamie Lee Curtis herself has teased that the sequel will both "shock" and "agitate" fans, seemingly further cementing the likelihood that some fan-favorite characters are doomed in the film. Only time will tell when Halloween Kills hits theaters and Peacock on Friday.
