Jamie Lee Curtis hypes Halloween Kills' release with a new behind-the-scenes set photo. Curtis is returning as Laurie Strode in the twelfth installment in the Halloween franchise, marking her sixth appearance in the series overall. Curtis first played the role in John Carpenter’s 1987 original movie, Halloween. Curtis is now poised to reprise the role in two subsequent sequels, Kills and Halloween Ends, which will most likely be her last time playing the character.

Halloween Kills is already the best-reviewed sequel in the franchise, although the score overall isn’t that great and early reviews seem mixed. Despite that, the direct sequel to 2018’s Halloween revamp, picks up right after the events of the last installment. While the plot is largely unknown at this time, the story is said to revolve around Strode and her family fending off the serial killer, Michael Myers, only this time teaming up with the town of Haddonfield to take on Myers. The film is set to release on October 15th, and it seems Curtis is hyped for that date.

Posted to her Instagram account, Curtis hypes the release of Halloween Kills by revealing a new behind-the-scenes set photo. The image, cast in black and white, shows Curtis cross-armed and standing under lights and smoke. Curtis accompanied the image with the caption, “HALLOWEEN UPDATE! It's HUMP DAY and there are ONLY 3 more HUMP or shall I call them THUMP DAYS till @halloweenmovie comes out.” View Curtis’ entire set photo below:

In her post, Curtis asks fans what their plans are for watching the movie, whether in theaters or at home on Peacock. NBCUniversal recently announced their decision to simultaneously release Halloween Kills in theaters and to their Peacock streaming service. Hardly the first film to release in both places during the Covid-19 pandemic, it’s an interesting decision given the recent success of Disney's new movie, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, had in crushing the Labor Day opening weekend record previously set by Rob Zombie’s 2007 Halloween remake. Disney’s success proves that audiences may be ready to go back to the theater, especially for a highly anticipated movie.

Whether fans see Halloween Kills surrounded by people in-theater or at home alone (like Laurie), the hype for the next installment is real. Although Curtis’ image above doesn’t give away any story elements, it still keeps with the spirit of her character, which saw her more tough and angry in the previous movie. Like Curtis’ character, fans of the franchise are ready to take on Myers once more.
